The Research group also provides data on hundreds of thousands of investment offerings, including stocks, mutual funds, and similar vehicles, along with real-time global market data on millions of equities, indexes, futures, options, commodities, and precious metals, in addition to foreign exchange and Treasury markets. The Role:
The Equity Data team is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, creative, and results-driven candidate to join its Equity Data Operation team. In this role, you will own and maintain existing Morningstar proprietary methodologies, work closely with equity data collection, research methodology and product teams to create IP. To this end as a Content Specialist, you will work with business managers, product managers, project managers, developers, operation team leaders and analysts, quality assurance analysts to define, manage and implement high quality and timely projects focused on data collection methodologies. You will work in a global environment, managing stakeholders in multiple regions. As the local resident content expert, you will be a resource to local data analysts. This position is based in our Shenzhen office.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating, maintaining and improving client facing Data Collection Methodology
- Initiate new ideas for methodology or processes that will benefit our clients and internal teams
- Responsible for timely resolution of Data Collection and Client queries
- Conduct impact analysis to assess the potential implications of methodology changes
- Consult on key equity data projects and provide insights in relation to methodology
- Collaborate with data collection teams to determine best practices
- Conduct and organize training sessions to elevate the level of equity data knowledge within the team
- Work with product consultants to ensure that our equity data is used in the best way possible
- Actively participating and contributing in Automation/Process simplification efforts in Data Collection
Requirements:
- Profound understanding of accounting principles, reporting formats, data collection practices
- Able to influence colleagues that you do not manage but whose participation/ collaboration you need to achieve the team’s goals
- Able to lead global projects coordinating with the global operations teams, working across different time zones
- Curious and enjoys performing research and solving problems
- Able to take the initiative and work without detailed guidance or supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business
- More than 3+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting field
- CFA is considered an asset
