Purpose of the Job

A Data Engineer works alongside with Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists in the team to develop scalable and production ready Advanced Analytics and AI software and products. Additionally, they develop different technical tools/services to enable large scale machine learning solutions. ​

A Data Engineer believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust. Working with a focus on value creation, growth and serving customers with full ownership and accountability. Delivering exceptional customer and business results​.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with BA on requirement and design; deliver creative and innovative projects with good quality and productivity.
• Develop all areas of Middle-Tier and Back-end system programming especially DB development, designing and coding, testing and troubleshooting, supporting.
• Monitor and tune databases to ensure high performance and availability for strict business tolerance.
• Develop ETL processes to load data from various application with good data quality.
• Coordinate end to end process to make sure each dataset gets delivered per schedule.

• 3+ years of database related experience
• With strong database knowledge preferably in MySql and MongoDB
• Should have strong SQL programming skills
• Experience in any programming languages: Java, Python or Shell;
• Advanced experience on data modeling or database design with appropriate structure and distribution solution
• Strong performance tuning complex queries, procedure and indexing strategies
• Familiar with data movement techniques and best practices to handle large volumes of data
• Familiar with database disaster recovery and database high availability deployment
• Experience with Ali, Azure and other cloud environments
• Working knowledge on any ETL tools is preferable.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts is plus
