YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Data Engineer, are to: 

• Integrate, transform, validate and reconcile large amounts of data;
• Assemble and evaluate data such that new insights, solutions and visualizations can be derived;
• Provide technical contributions in a fast-paced team environment to accelerate our efforts on building an analytics-driven product pipeline;
• Support the exploratory data analysis, data cleaning and processing;
• Perform data discoveries to understand data formats, source systems, file sizes, etc., and engage with business partners in this discovery process;
• Drive critical decision making by conducting various type of descriptive statistics and data quality analyses;
• Directed and/or independent research to test scientific hypotheses
• Identify trends, data quality issues, anomalies across large data sets, particularly in the area of machine data and other agronomic management practices;
• Evaluate the limitations of existing data sources and provide recommendations to address unmet data needs;
• Develop sustainable, consumable, accurate and impactful reporting on model inputs, model outputs, observed outputs, business impact and key performance indicators;
• Form partnerships with cross functional teams in the company, including internal R&D, engineering and IT teams;
• Communicate data quality and data completeness to key partners;
• Be accountable and ensure solutions meet business requirements;
• Write robust and well-documented research code;
• Engage with diverse research groups to understand their models and products and develop solutions to meet their data needs;
• Undertake written and verbal communication with stakeholders in various parts of the organization;
• Deliver results in a timely and efficient manner;
• Implement and Manage Data Governance and Steward frameworks.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Math, Statistics, Information’s Systems Management, Computer Science or GIS;
• At least five years of relevant development experience with recent experience in Python, R and SQL;
• At least two years of experience with working with geospatial datasets/GIS;
• Experience working with cloud tools such as AWS and Domino data science platform;
• Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, written and oral communications;
• Strong problem solving and proven project delivery skills;
• Demonstrated experience with global multi-disciplinary teams and learning the science;
• Creative, proactive, bold and out-of-box thinking.
