About the role

You will join a new team which just started to build the Information Management function of the future and work directly with Group Information Manager. You have the opportunity to co-develop and apply an Information Management approach that is innovative, steps away from traditional ways of working and embraces agility and simplicity. You will be an active contributor to our journey of creating a better everyday life for the many people by working towards to best protection of data across the organization.

By being pro-actively involved with Information Management, you will be responsible for development, maintenance and implementation of Inter IKEA Group’s Data Ethics & Privacy policies, procedures and documentation for the processing of personal data in coordination with appropriate members of the organization (e.g., business process owners, legal, information security, the works council). You will devise and update Data Privacy & Ethics policies and procedures for customers, co-workers and data breach incident responses, ensuring alignment with the actual implementation of personal data processing activities.

You will have opportunity to establishing and managing group-wide Data Privacy & Ethics governance. You will ensure the organization maintains the appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent procedures, authorization forms, and information notices. Your role will include many interactions, including audit and risk, compliance, HR, legal, business process owners, IT, security and other internal stakeholders to ensure group-wide coverage of the Data Privacy & Ethics discipline. You will work together with procurement, vendor management and the legal department to ensure that third-party suppliers' contracts and operating-level agreements meet Inter IKEA Group’s privacy requirements.

Key responsibilities of your role will also include leading Inter IKEA Group’s response to privacy-related emergencies and other potentially damaging events. You will determine the enterprise's specific privacy-related requirements and potential vulnerabilities and conduct regular privacy policy compliance assessments to ensure that Inter IKEA Group's privacy policies are being adhered to.

Another part of your role is overseeing the compliance monitoring activities and ensuring that Inter IKEA Group and third parties (service providers) follow the privacy rules, implement measuring procedures to verify the extent in which these stakeholders meet privacy policy requirements and address privacy concerns. You will be also responsible for ensuring that data security practices — in particular, logging, monitoring and auditing practices — do not conflict with privacy requirements. You will oversee privacy awareness campaigns, training and orientation for all co-workers. Since this is a new role in a new team, you understand that changes in responsibilities may arise over time.

Qualifications

 

About you

You share and live the IKEA culture and values, have a genuine interest in home furnishing and have working experience in European companies and similar industry (retail franchise, consumer goods supply chain).

You are humble, straight forward and curious. You have strong project experience and at the same time you have excellent communication skills with strong presentation skills and able to gain buy-in. You have the ability to engage resources outside of direct control to achieve objectives. You are proficient in English.

You are a strong team lead. You have the ability to manage multiple teams with different focus. An open-minded team player with the ability to build trustful relationships. You enjoy working in a vibrant and changing multi-dimensional environment and are happy to travel.

You are an expert in Data Privacy. You have proven experience between [5-10] years in privacy, data protection, security, risk management, auditing and/or compliance, preferably in Consumer Goods & Services industry. You are experienced in implementing privacy policies in international businesses that engage in B2B and B2C transactions. You finalized a university degree and ideally a post-master qualification in the field of information management.

You have strong knowledge of regulations. You are experienced in working in a heavily regulated and/or audited environment. You have a deep working knowledge of EU and international privacy laws, regulations and industry best practices. You have expert level knowledge of the EU’s e-Privacy Regulation (ePR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

You have solid understanding of risk and compliance. You have experience in auditing frameworks and international standards, such as ISO standards, COBIT and ITIL. Experience as an auditor is a plus. You have experience or familiarity with governance, risk and compliance (GRC) tools and how they can be used to support privacy related GRC activities.

This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) based in Delft (The Netherlands), reporting to the Information Management Lead.
