In this role, you will be joining our Finance Technology team within Eaton finance. We are catalysts for change -- driving efficiencies, enabling innovation, and developing solutions to help our Eaton finance function deliver critical insights to our operations. As a member of the Finance Technology team, you will be embedded within our finance function to drive increased usage of modern technologies that will complement and enhance our existing financial systems landscape. Eaton is on a multi-year finance functional transformation journey to provide our finance teams with the tools required to do their best and most fulfilling work. Real-time access to clean, reconcilable data and analytics capabilities are key enablers of that roadmap, and the Finance Technology team is driving this change. On this team, you will use your knowledge of a wide variety of data, produced and consumed by finance function, along with your digital mindset, to facilitate broader adoption of data governance policies, and data quality management. In collaboration with various partners, this role will help to define standard operating procedures to embed data governance and quality management principles within new and existing finance data products. A successful candidate would have experience with data quality and cleansing with deep knowledge of data governance and data profiling, to ensure our operation teams are able to extract the most value from a technology asset. This is it. **** As a Data Governance Analyst, you will utilize your passion for data to assist in the formation and execution of Eaton's data governance framework, policy & standards, which will allow for our finance teams to drive effective & efficient business decisions with the best possible data. You will be a hands-on contributor to the overall success of Eaton's finance technology roadmap. This position requires collaboration with the Finance Technology team, IT Services, Supply Chain, various ops groups and other key stakeholders within Eaton. Your main duties: In this role as a Data Governance Analyst, you will be responsible to: Design, build and execute control structures in systems ranging from simple to complex (enterprise) environments to ensure data quality and policy compliance Provide analysis to ensure financial systems data reliability and work to minimize data redundancy Provide guidance and participate in projects related to policy development, management, and researching impacts of potential policy changes Perform research related to data profiling, tagging and database structure to identify relevant data elements Ensure data quality is evaluated for applicable Finance Technology solutions that are developed Partner with various teams to ensure resolution of identified data integrity issues and any associated mitigation actions to prevent future recurrences Work independently on root cause analysis for assigned data quality issues Support remediation of data quality exceptions Define data quality controls for new/existing reports and improve/enhance the existing data controls Assist with the requirements gathering, testing, and roll-out of data quality initiatives such as data quality dashboards for end users Collaborate with business partners and project teams to understand current state processes and data needs Conduct analysis on known data quality issues and define operational and/or technical solutions for remediation Interact with other technology and finance teams to drive changes and remediate issues – ensure requirements and procedures are understood and are implemented as per specification Create KPI/metrics and presentations related to data quality management reporting The ideal candidate: Has a strong passion for all-things data and is comfortable to partner with others to accomplish in data quality techniques and managing enterprise data assets within a complex organization Has demonstrated usages of available meta-data management, data quality, and data stewardship tools and platforms Has strong analytical capabilities with excellent time-management skills Can build and maintain positive relationships with diverse business team members and partners Has ability to effectively challenge the status-quo to contribute toward continuous improvement culture Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Is an solutions-oriented problem solver Has strong data literacy and understanding of privacy laws and regulations Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution MBA and/or advanced degree preferred but not required Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience (finance, data, IT, or reporting analytics) Finance experience working in a global matrixed business environment preferred Toolkit: Intermediate level of financial functional expertise ERP hands on experience with SAP (ECC or S4), Oracle R12, Mfgpro, Mapics, etc. Financial planning or reporting tool experience including Oracle EPM/Hyperion Intermediate level of experience with Power BI (Business Intelligence), Power Apps, SAP BW (Business Warehouse), OBIEE, Tableau, Qlik, Dataiku, or Alteryx High-level skill in Excel required Experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, or R. Experience developing policies focused on optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets. Experience with Agile Methodology Then we want to hear about you!
