Job Description

Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) is recruiting a Data Privacy and Compliance Specialist Benelux to be based in our office in Wavre.

The Data Privacy and Compliance Specialist supports and guides the implementation and management of main ADC commercial activities that ensure our operations are compliant with applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the specification of digital implementation from compliance and data privacy perspective

  • Advising on legal and regulatory aspects of compliance regarding data protection laws, rules and guidance applicable to main ADC projects and ensure internal compliance with Abbott policies, procedure and code of conduct.

  • Developing and implementing compliance frameworks including templates and guidance notes for privacy, data protection and other privacy and personal data matters

  • Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments in the area of data protection and privacy, particularly in the Benelux and EU.

  • Assisting in the Identification and mitigation of internal data protection issues and risks

  • Participating and advising on data protection issues and compliance in company-wide initiatives

  • Developing training and customer onboarding materials

  • Supporting the sales and customer service team from a customer facing perspective on privacy and compliance related queries

  • Generating privacy related content for the Marketing Team

  • Providing cross organizational support in all matters related to privacy and compliance

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships through individual contacts and group meetings across the organization. Serve as subject matter expert and provide guidance to business unit personnel upon request.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in law, international relations/public policy or equivalent experience

  • Proven work experience in a compliance and risk environment in the life science sector

  • Experience of working with regulatory frameworks

  • Privacy qualification is a plus

  • Fluent in English, French and Dutch- Any other language is an asset

  • Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills

  • Strong attention to details

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Driven and committed to success whilst maintaining high integrity and confidentiality

  • Flexibility to travel and strong business acumen
