Objective of job
The China Data team is responsible for discovering China Datalake and identifying business insights. We are enabling our internal customers by coming up data capabilities to further empower data-driven decision making in daily business. As a solid foundation, we are also keeping the Datalake, the Data Warehouses and all big data solutions running stable and intuitive to use.
As a data scientist in the team you will…
•Integrate and prepare large, varied datasets, using specialized databases and computing environments
•Turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound organizational decisions
•Be a creative thinker and propose innovative ways to look at problems by using data approaches on the set of
information available
•Need to validate your findings using an experimental and iterative approach
•Perform data acquisition, data preparation, data cleansing, data modeling, analysis and visualization
•Work closely with our project managers, business units, data analysts and other IT teams
•Use best practices in data analytics
•Communicating with Business Units, plan the subsequent analytic activities from data acquisition up to production level implementation
•Manage vendors on finding new algorithms and explore new forms of visualization, and also monitor the engeering phase as to turn the result to a production system.

-Conducting data analysis on very large data sets, using complex algorithms, working together with other data scientists, project managers and BUs in an agile environment
-Understanding complex data and finding data patterns in different sources
-Create solid statistical predictive models and innovative visualizations
-Guiding the process of algorithm implementation
-Ensure the use cases are in line with business objective and priority
-Ensure use cases are operated in time & communicated professionally
-Drive development and implementation of the big data use cases
-Drive vendor selection and steering, control, contract management
-Coordination of operationalization
-Support other Big Data Projects
•Communication and Collaboration
-Be the central person of contact for use case finalization & implementation, drive a continuous development of data science methods
-Identify and describe significant business opportunities in different Daimler business units together alongside your business partners
-Establish strong relationships and communicate with a wide array of colleagues in different locations
-Integration of all stakeholders in overall processes in order to solve occurring issues as quick as possible
-Be able to communicate about highly complex data topics in easy and understandable ways
