Job Description
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibility for the creation and maintenance of conceptual, logical and physical data models that define the requirements for management and business intelligence systems
- Execution of data analysis, creation and testing of working hypotheses as well as preparation and analysis of data including the identification of patterns
- Support in defining the analytical scope and methodology for projects, including defining and creating the models in collaboration with team members, end users, development staff and other stakeholders
- Build internal knowledge and skills to support digital transformation
- Support the digital transformation to optimize processes by converting data into knowledge and opportunities for the company
- Optimization of efficiency and effectiveness in the business areas by improving the processes and their sequence in accordance with the compliance and security requirements
- Close cooperation within the company with the local departments and corporate functions
WHO YOU ARE
- University degree (PhD or MS) preferably in computer science, engineering, mathematics or statistics
- Experience in the application of advanced analytical and statistical methods in industry
- Experience with multivariate statistical methods (multiple regression, MANOVA, factor analysis, etc.) and machine learning methods (random forest, bootstrapping, artificial neural networks, etc.); knowledge of SAS, Matlab, Aspen, SPSS or similar modeling software is desirable
- Programming experience in R and Python as well as practical experience with IT frameworks (HW, SW, data connection interfaces, operating systems and security)
- Experience in the design of experiments (DoE): data preparation, data quality assessment, variable creation, variable selection as well as expertise in visualization tools (R, Qlikview, Spotfire, Tableau etc.)
- Strong presentation and communication skills to convey analytical concepts paired with the ability to build strong networks with universities and industry innovators for a constant exchange of knowledge
- High ability to solve problems and to structure and simplify complex tasks
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
