The Data Management Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly variance and data quality analysis as needed to ensure data required for market risk calculation and reporting is of the highest quality
- Develop, leverage, and maintain relationships across varying levels of management and function to ensure a high degree of accuracy in Market Risk data and reporting.
- Analyse consumer data demand for market risk data and assist with identification of critical data elements for key risk processes and regulatory reporting in partnership with consumers
- Identify data quality problems and initiatives for effective resolution and improvement of the data.
- Anticipate potential issues by analyzing high materiality variances.
- Work with business, technology and analytics groups, including: Risk business, IT, Finance Controllers, Operations, Front Office etc., to deliver data quality improvement initiatives
- Track and report on progress of various data quality projects, including technology initiatives and Issues for Management Resolution
- Participate in meetings covering data quality projects (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Prepare meeting materials and updates for consumers
- Participate actively on Issue Management Resolution meetings
- Be a subject matter expert on regulatory changes to ensure that current process and results comply with regulatory expectations.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- A comprehensive knowledge of Market Risk principles and data, including Risk data elements, processes
- A proven track record of successful project management of multiple priorities and dealing effectively with demanding business partners.
- Regulatory Risk Reporting knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent people skills: ability to interact successfully with regulators, business partners, technology teams, our technical infrastructure groups and technology managers
- Strong data analysis skills
- A high competency level with MS Access/Excel/Project
- Ability to work with various organizations.
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work on multiple tasks with conflicting demand/timelines.
- Excellent client focus.
Education:
- Bachelors/University degree
- Data management training recommended

The Risk Data Service Management team is part of Data Services group within Chief Data Office. The team plays a key role in the integrity of Bank’s global Finance and Risk reporting.
The team is comprised of risk professionals with subject matter expertise on the key attributes of Market Risk products and reporting. The team analyses trends and works closely with internal stakeholders to improve the integrity of the data, processes and systems that impact data quality.
The purpose of the job is to monitor the data integrity and quality of Market Risk Data for risk management and reporting through the analysis of key inputs and outputs of market risk activities.
