Job Overview:
Performs the development, maintenance and performance tuning of databases for new and existing applications. The databases in scope include production critical systems with high availability, data integrity and security requirements in particular for Shopfloor relevant areas.


Responsibilities:


- Create, configure and administer company database
- Database performance tuning Performs system updates and maintains process documentation
- Database Disaster Recovery (backups and restoration)
- Database Security
- System and DBMS (Database Management System) operations
- Database planning and design
- Database programming (SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, etc)
- Database test planning and release management
- Production Operations Support, including working with IT Business Relationship Specialists/Systems Analysts to maintain operations and implement preventative measures

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related area.

- 5 years of experience in the field

- Experience in database development and support in Oracle Database Server environments

- Strong emphasis on Teamwork
- Experience with RMAN and Version Manager is a plus
- Experience upgrading Oracle 11g is a plus
- Knowledge of scripting languages (ex:  Powershell)
- Experience with the Data Warehousing technologies including Business Objects, Oracle Warehouse Builder, PL-SQL, Oracle databases
- Experience with Data Warehouse modeling tools and techniques is a plus
- Demonstrated experience with Configuration Management tools
- Ability to wholly comprehend a situation and to think in complex relationships
- High sense of responsibility and able to work unsupervised                                                                                                                            
- Willing to travel worldwide for business for varying durations and with short-term notice

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
 
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
                                                                                                                                                                                                   More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
