Internal Audit assists the Company in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined risk-based approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the Company’s risk management, internal control, and governance systems and processes. In order to perform this function, Internal Audit maintains a professional staff with sufficient knowledge, skills, and experience to meet the requirements of its Charter. This role serves as the Deputy to the Chief Auditor for the Investment and Wealth Management businesses, globally, directing the operations for a significant portion of the Audit function and contributing to the strategic direction of the function. Oversees reporting to Executive management and the Board of Directors. Develops and maintains key executive management and regulatory relationships. Responsible for establishing and ensuring the achievement of division-wide goals. Applies significant global and diverse audit experience to the direction of the division, encouraging continuous improvement and advising on emerging and critical risks. General Responsibilities: The Deputy Chief Auditor: Directs a significant portion of audit operations, including relationship management as well as work product. Drives the quality of audit work and disseminates and integrates key business or specialty knowledge across the division. Collaborates with the Chief Auditor and Audit Management Team to develop the corporate-wide audit planning and strategy. Translates a strategic view into an appropriate Audit Universe/Risk Assessment and Audit Plan that prioritizes efforts appropriately. Assesses and develops resources, taking into consideration broad human resource goals (diversity, succession planning), training and development, timely feedback. Manages assigned/limited resources to complete the Audit Plan with appropriate coverage of key risks. Demonstrates subject matter (specialty) expertise, specialized knowledge of multiple areas of the corporation, and/or provides global coverage. Serves as expert resource, with knowledge of multiple technical specialty areas as well as significant understanding of broad business issues. Develops and cultivates key senior management relationships, acting as a key advisor providing advice and counsel critical to business operations and an early warning system for risk identification and solutions to control themes. Proactively informs and counsels the Executive Management Group and departmental managers about the future direction of the business and emerging risks. Establishes and maintains strong relationships and regular contact with other governance areas, regulators (eg, OCC, FRB, etc), and external auditors. Collaborates with peer Audit leaders to share knowledge, assistance and staff development across groups. Manages teams of other managers to include financial and human resources management. Shared responsibility for the achievement of overall audit function goals and objectives globally. Provides leadership across the division to build and maintain a high-performance inclusive culture of continuous growth and improvement. Qualifications Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Degree in accounting, finance, or relevant specialty preferred. MBA, CPA, CFA, CIA and/or CFIRS related certifications preferred. Prior experience supporting Investment Management and/or Wealth Management. 20 years of total work experience, with10 years of management experience, preferred. Prior experience and demonstrated success in a mid to high level managerial role in Audit preferred. Additional core skill requirements include, strong analytical skills including data analytics, critical thinking and problem solving. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
