Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Deputy Director Business Development Divestment Operations, are to: 

 

  • Support an end to end process for divestitures and managing each stage of the transaction on each deal;
  • Build the framework, process, and tools/templates, and lead value delivery by establishing key partnerships across functional areas in all regions;
  • Work on functional areas as supply chain, regulatory, commercial, clinical, medical affairs, finance, pharmacovigilance and others;
  • Provide guidance, and updates to BD&L and other senior management on transaction progress;
  • Coordinate the process and develop the materials for divestiture activities throughout the divestiture process;
  • Serve as a point of contact within BD&L for functional areas on global and regional divestiture deals;
  • Support and where appropriate leads deal negotiations, due diligence, separation planning and execution;
  • Identify priorities, progress and risks associated with each divestiture;
  • Develop value creator and risk mitigation for each project;
  • Conduct lessons learned and identify best practices.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or science or related discipline; MBA or equivalent highly preferred.
  • At least five years overall experience in the pharmaceutical industry;
  • At least two years of transaction experience within BD&L or related;
  • Experience with strategy development and project management;
  • Ability to manage complexity within matrix organization;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to develop relationships and inspire confidence and trust from internal and external partners at all levels;
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% if required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Prior experience working in divestitures;
  • Experience in creating strong relationships across multiple functions and businesses.
