Deputy Director, Monash Technology Transformation Institute (MTTI)

Monash University Australia (www.monash.edu) has entered into a joint venture to establish the Monash Technology Transformation Institute (MTTI), a new not-for-profit centre for research and development (R&D) recently launched in the Pingshan District of Shenzhen, China. MTTI is the largest commercialisation partnership negotiated between an Australian university and China, and combines the expertise of Monash University, Chinese government and commercial partners to bring IP to the investible stage.

MTTI will provide a new opportunity to incubate Monash’s relevant and targeted early stage intellectual property (IP), to conduct R&D and progress towards commercialisation in previously untapped markets in China. The vision of MTTI is to commercialise new products, including advanced technologies and bio-pharmaceuticals, that will help improve human and animal health and wellbeing, to meet the growing demand for advanced technologies in medical practice and medical equipment in Shenzhen, China and around the world.

Providing high-level leadership support to the Director, MTTI, and the Institute, the Deputy Director, MTTI is responsible for providing oversight of investment and market analysis, commercialisation advice and project planning to drive achievement of the MTTI’s strategic goals. The appointee will bring significant commercial experience, combined with genuine understanding of both Chinese and global markets, particularly as they pertain to therapeutics, med-tech, technologies and regulatory pathways. Given this is a joint venture, fluency in both English and Chinese is highly desirable.
