Deputy Head Greenkeeper

Fairmont St Andrews has two championship golf courses and is a Final open qualifying and European tour host venue

We require a full time permanent qualified Deputy Head Greenkeeper to join the team to assist in providing and maintaining 1st class standards across the courses and grounds. The successful candidate will report to the Head Greenkeeper. This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding greens team and contribute to the continued improvement of our links style cliff top courses.

Key Responsibilities and preferred requirements:

• Monitor and Maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.
• Work alongside Head greenkeeper to ensure high levels of presentation are met
• Deputise for Head Greenkeeper in his absence.
• Highly motivated and productive with a strong work ethic.
• Be able to motivate the staff to ensure maximum productivity and quality
• Ability to undertake daily turf maintenance and preparation to high standards, and with attention to detail.
• Work based qualification, level 3 as minimum
• Supervision and delegation of tasks to more junior members of the team
• Be able to use a wide range of machinery and equipment.
• The ability to work on their own or within the team of green staff
• To communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and guests.

Your experience and skills include:

• 6 years previous Greenkeeping experience is desirable

Your team and working environment:

• Working as part of a team, however the job does require an element of lone working.
• Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK
