CallisonRTKL seeks a Senior Architectural Lead Designer to join its Commercial Practice Group located in Shanghai.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and manages the project process for the Commercial sector
• Represents the project or practice as the primary contact for client interaction
• Negotiates critical and controversial issues with appropriate parties
• Collaborates with other lead professionals to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with project expectations
• Facilitates in project scheduling
• Produces technical and design studies and develops technical and design solutions
• Develops drawings including detailing, quality control and overseeing drawing support staff
• Prepares design and construction document with a sensitivity to design and ensure design and documentation are in accordance with project expectations
• Produces graphic presentations and builds study models
• Provides technical guidance to junior staff
• Directs issue resolution and enhances project quality in reporting to internal and external audiences
• Serves as the main contributor during client meetings and presentations
• Responsible for financial management of assigned projects

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• 9-15 years of architecture experience
• Professional registration
• Recognized experience in leading strong creative concept or schematic large-scale retail, mixed-use development and hospitality or high-rise office projects
• Excellent free-hand graphic presentation
• Fluent bilingual language skills and presentation skills
• Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
• Knowledge of Chinese construction practices and management of projects in China
• Excellent team leadership and management skills
• Proficient in both verbal and written Mandarin and English
• Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all clients and employees
• Interacts well with other disciplines and clients in a manner that builds productive relationships
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop
• Understanding of BIM is strong preferred
• LEED accreditation preferred
