  • Set goals and objectives for direct reports]
  • Hold periodic performance reviews for direct reports, including year end reviews
  • Attract and develop engineering talent
• • Train and mentor team members as needed and support them in their projects.

• Engineering management

  • Focus assignment of team resources and design direction to align with company objectives.
  • Lead the Taiwan design engineering team.
    • Create an environment that delivers innovative designs.
    • Ensure the engineering team’s projects (concept thru production start) are correctly engineered, drawn, documented, tested and approved for production.
    • Set up design reviews for each project to ensure team alignment before tooling start.
    • Create realistic design requirements, project milestones, and project deadlines and ensure they are met.
  • Meet and collaborate regularly with a cross-functional, international team to drive the decisions necessary to ensure project targets are effectively communicated and delivered.
  • Be responsible for continuous improvement
    • Eliminate design process inefficiencies and ensure mass manufactured product is safe and reliable
  • Lead by example
    • Occasionally take full responsibility as design engineer for various projects to support the team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7 years of progressively more advanced product engineering experience
• Two years mentoring less experienced engineers
• Fluent in CREO (Pro/e) CAD software with the ability to utilize surfacing features.
• Experience in using GD&T in 2D and ability to train engineers in GD&T
• Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Machine shop skills, including lathes, mills, and welder
• Experience working with international cultures and factories and a willingness to travel
