Are you a UX-minded front-end UX developer who can collaborate on designs in close partnership with design and user research

The Azure Data User Experience team is currently seeking an experienced, motivated, creative, customer-focused Senior Design Integrator to help conceive and implement design solutions across our on-premises and cloud tooling products.

This role will work in an agile, collaborative environment alongside experience designers, user researchers, developers, product managers, strategists, and copywriters to design and implement ground-breaking modern and experience-driven work.

The ADUX team owns the user experience that millions of database developers, administrators and other data professionals use every day to work with data across the Azure Data stack: not just SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Data Warehouse but also other relational and non-relational data. Our tools team is on an exciting journey to modernize the tools that data developers and administrators use day to day creating new data experiences for the future.

Responsibilities

Success factors for Design Integrators in our exciting environment:

  • Thoughtfulness—You’re thoughtful and deliberate in your choices and able to articulate that on the fly across a cross-functional team, and occasionally, conflicting priorities and objectives.
  • Bigger Picture Understands how to prevent short term work from blocking long term goals.  Need to be able to move very fast without coding/designing in a way that harms our future needs.
  • Sales mindset + persuasion skills—You’ve got the social intelligence and sales skills to understand (or explain) what needs to be changed, and why. You use criticism to spur insightful conversations, not a reason to be defensive or shut down.
  • A translator of tradeoffs—There’s no perfect interface and no right answer. You’re able to create different options and translate the tradeoffs between them in the context of business objectives.
  • A facilitator—You know how to collaborate with others and let them put their concerns on the table.
