Operations Manager
Creating and facilitating a memorable experience in an authentic location is the essence of the Operations Managers role at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Your creativity, professionalism and knowledge of the Hotel will reflect positively in how you present the property. What you will be doing:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
- Facilitate with group operations including but not limited to minimizing third party expenses, booking, verifying and facilitating entertainment, billing, and daily tasks.
- Assist with developing and maintaining new and existing work relationships with supplier-partners, negotiating rates and placing them on “hold” as needed.
- Provide assistance to clients when National Sales Manager is not available, returning phone calls or emails promptly.
- Assist in setup and production of events as well as transportation onsite
- Collaborate with Team in creating proposals and contracts for clients
- Assist with client site inspections (planning and implementation)
- Maintain database of all vendors to ensure all prices and offerings are current
- Responsible for answering phones and other administrative duties
- Keep abreast of new tours and venues
- Attend weekly Operations Meeting
- Attend monthly Sales Meeting
- Collect all vendor related invoices, process for payment and post all group related revenue to the master account
Your experience and skills include:

Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in the local destination industry

Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors and trends

Knowledge of MS Office, Social Tables, SketchUp Opera, Birchstreet or e-Destin a plus.

Ability to work nights and weekends when required

Must be a Team Player that is able to pivot role and responsibility based on business levels.

Knowledge of local event vendor industry & involvement in industry trade groups a plus

2-4 years of sales experience

CMP is desired
