Join Eaton’s Information Technology team and help positively impact our business through leading technologies, exciting and challenging enterprise projects, and new platforms. We are currently seeking a Specialist DevOps engineer to join our Infrastructure Center of Excellence (CYBRCOE) team. The candidate will be based at any Eaton US Facility. The Specialist DevOps engineer role will deliver, develop, and support the IAAS Operating system and compute product in a data center environment. The DevOps engineer will develop Infrastructure as code self service solutions for customers to reduce administration toil and improve the customer experience. This engineer will support and engineer the data center environment whilst identifying improvements and applying SRE principles. In addition, the DevOps engineer will Identify and propose infrastructure enhancements or improvements based on industry knowledge. Key responsibilities of this role include: Apply technical expertise within a scrum/agile development team that employs DevOps methodologies to develop Infrastructure-as-code and self-service solutions for customers. Support and maintain high availability compute resources within the data center environment adhering to the follow the sun model. Implement Site Reliability Engineering principles to enhance the reliability, repeatability, and flexibility of production services in a DevOps environment. Provide solutions for the development and continuous delivery of automated deployment of compute resources. Drive high availability, security, and performance efficiency utilizing automated methods to maintaining current versions, patches, and vendor suggested improvements as needed. Collaborate and consult with adjacent teams including public and private cloud to identify and suggest cross organizational environment improvements. Qualifications Basic (Minimum) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required. Minimum 5 years of IT experience is required Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Position Success Criteria: Experience with modern development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and DevOps Experience in Infrastructure-As-Code and Automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Runbook Management Working knowledge of Git version control software and work management platforms such as Atlassian Jira. Experience administering, engineering, and supporting enterprise operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows Server. Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts Fundamental understanding of ServiceNow Basic knowledge of enterprise data storage and backup concepts including NetBackup Working Knowledge of VMWare and vSphere.
