At Mercedes-Benz Cars Research & Development (RD), we design the automobile generations of the future. By this we mean innovative products of the highest quality and efficient development processes. We are already working on vehicles that will secure Mercedes-Benz's technological leadership in the future.

The MBOS Software Base Layer project will be the basis for the Mercedes-Benz ecosystem to push Mercedes into the world of a software developing company on the way of digital transformation. Our department provid the MBOS standard SW Base Layer.

Role description:

• Our department develops the software stack for in vehicle communication, which is an integral part of the Mercedes Benz Operating System (MBOS) - for the development of the stack, we improve continuously the process and tool landscape
  
• Furthermore, our department develops communication mechanisms and network configurations - beginning with standardization (e.g. Autosar), integration into the basic software stack, definition of Mercedes-Benz specific pattern, until the implementation of the interfaces for series production - therefore, we are in close contact with all in vehicle EE-Systems as well as external component suppliers
  
• The work includes collaboration with colleagues around the globe (Stuttgart, Berlin, India, Spain,…)

• Development and Integration of Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) for in vehicle Ethernet networks at the EE-Architecture of Mercedes-Benz
  
• Develop and publish network protocol specifications and related software requirements
  
• Coordination of a bench implementation
  
• Support content owners with training and general support
  
• Participate in reviews to ensure requirements and guidelines are being met
