Position Description:
This role is reporting to Director of DaaS Global Bid and Contract Management.
You will have responsibility for the programme management of complex global /
multi-country bids for Lenovo’s Device as a Service business unit. Manage the
end to end Bid Management process from deal qualification to due diligence,
contract negotiation and closure. You will collaborate with Sales and
Solutioning Senior Management, Bid Management and Contractual/Legal Leadership
to define a flexible Bid Management Framework across the sales lifecycle that
appropriately addresses the complexity, value, risk, and strategic fit of each
opportunity.
The framework will include:
• End-to-End Process
• Governance Review and Approvals, including deal qualification and solution
and pricing model approvals
• Project Planning, resource allocation and Review milestones
• Bid Team Management
• Client Communications Coordination & Management
• Risk Management
• Proposal and Contractual Documentation
• Lessons Learned Analysis.
Provide thought leadership on Bid strategy and lead geographically diverse
cross-functional teams to manage the production of winning bid responses
through application of industry best practice, programme management and sound
governance.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Customer Engagement & Communications : Manage communications with all
internal and external stakeholders and provide regular management reporting on
Bid status through to contract signature.
• Proactive engagement with DaaS Sales teams, Global Account sales teams and
Solution Architects during the sales cycle to ensure that we understand
customer requirements, customer’s compelling events and associated timescales.
• Bid Team Management : Assemble and manage the virtual bid team including
relevant stakeholders from each functional area e.g. DaaS Sales, Solution
Architects, Contract Management, Legal, Transition & Service Delivery.
• Programme Management : Create an ambitious but realistic and achievable
project plan from initial customer qualification through to contract signature
and hand-off to transition and service delivery teams. Manage the programme to
ensure realistic and achievable milestones are set and achieved on schedule.
Assign tasks and capture responsibilities, accountabilities and dependencies.
• Bid Documentation : Engage and assist DaaS Sales team, Solution Architects
and Bid/Proposal Managers to source content, develop the bid messaging and
deliver high quality winning bid documentation.
• Bid /RFP : Assess and define the requirements, deliverables and response
format, timelines and evaluation criteria within each PQQ/RFI/RFP and advise
on building a compelling bid response. Work with the bid team to ensure all
questions and requirements have been addressed and manage the quality review
process.
• Commercial : Review bid response for accuracy of information and compliance,
including solution description/SLAs and pricing response.
• Governance : Manage review and approvals process in line with Bid Management
best practice and internal governance processes.
• Country Engagement : Ensure relevant Lenovo subsidiary stakeholders are
consulted and kept informed
• Partner Engagement : Ensure Lenovo’s business partners including relevant
SI’s and key suppliers are engaged and meet all relevant milestones and
criteria set out in the plan.
#### Position Requirements:
• Proven Leadership skills
• Experience in a global/multi-national business unit environment and in
managing the relationships with local operating subsidiaries, partners and
suppliers
• Experience of IT Managed Services, “as a Service” models and/or IT equipment
leasing
• Strong customer facing and stakeholder communication skills
• Commercial acumen and solid commercial negotiation skills
• An eye for detail with a questioning and analytical mindset
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure
• In excess of 6 years proven bid management experience with experience
leading complex multi-country technology based bids typically ranging between
£20m and £200m
• Experience in forming, and leading, virtual bid teams and programme
management of bid and contract processes to achieve agreed timelines for bid
deliverables and contract signature.
• Excellent project management and planning skills, ideally Prince2, PMP
qualified, with the ability to prioritise and balance multiple projects
• Detailed understanding and experience of bid best practice gained via
industry certification, APMP preferred.
• English as a primary language. Second language an advantage – German, French
or Spanish
• Understanding of different regional cultural norms and behaviours
