Location: Shanghai China, or Japan, or Australia

Reporting line: Zoetis Diagnostic International Medical Director

Job description and main responsibilities:

Successfully support Diagnostic business across APAC Region

Achieve the medical team objectives defined every year by the Zoetis Diagnostic international organization by:

  • Managing the full Zoetis Diagnostics portfolio that includes :

    • Point of Care Test (WITNESS and VETSCAN Rapid Range)

    • Lab Elisa kits (PROFLOK / SERELISA / LACTELISA/ …)

    • Devices & Instruments (VETSCAN, ALPHATRAK, QUICKVET)

    • Any new related Diagnostic business that Zoetis may develop and or acquire.

  • Managing & training customers :

    • Zoetis affiliates including major markets such as China, Japan, Thailand, Australia, Korea, Indonesia, India, Philippines, Vietnam, …

    • External customers

      • Veterinarians across species (Poultry, Swine, Cattle, Dogs, Cats, Horses)

      • Public or Private Referral Labs

      • Distributors

      • Key opinion leaders (KOLs)

    • Internal Customers

      • PSV colleagues across the APAC markets

      • Other market stakeholders across key functional areas

  • Being the technical manager

    • Work with country technical and commercial teams, identifying internal and external decision makers to develop technical strategy and tactics to support International Diagnostics

    • Develop technical strategy and tactics with support of International Diagnostics

    • Prioritize high return on investments business opportunities in alignment with International diagnostic medical director

    • Share plans & provide support for their implementation with affiliates, distributors and key stakeholders.

    • Follow up on plan execution / track results / identify gaps and proposed corrective actions

Bring added value to Zoetis and leverage its footprint

Ensure Diagnostic are fully integrated in Zoetis "Core" Business

  • Review Diagnostic Performance, plans, with Zoetis colleagues (e.g., quarterly Diagnostic meeting with local BUDs)

  • Develop and deliver technical information and training

  • Work with medical team on collaboration continuum of care strategy (e.g., Predict->Prevent ->Detect -> Treat approach) with local species business units, sales, marketing of each major Zoetis affiliates

  • Ensure common look and feel with ZOETIS biopharma business at trade shows

  • Leverage local Zoetis resources (e.g., Multi-Channel Marketing (MCM), Key opinion leader (KOL network), etc.

  • Identify additional strategic opportunities, (e.g., creating vet-lab link)

  • Participate in regional Zoetis meetings - provide country specific insight and share best-practices

Become the Diagnostic medical referral for APAC

Bring added value to our internal and external customers, competitive advantages to our company

  • Develop a specific expertise regarding Zoetis Diagnostics organization, products, market to

    • Provide medical responses to support case inquires

    • Direct customer inquiries to appropriate colleagues

    • Provide support to internal and external customers that are dealing with the Zoetis Diagnostic portfolio across species

    • Partner with the relevant colleagues to support the development and execution of strategies and tactics for achieving customer satisfaction.

    • Identify business opportunities

    • Monitor competitor activities

    • Reflect portfolio gaps to VMRD (Phase IIIb/IV studies) and business developments

    • Facilitate connection between various global and local internal stakeholders (Commercial, Logistics, Customer Care, …)

    • Ensure a constant information flow and knowledge transfer within the diagnostic community

    • Be part of the International diagnostic medical community, share best practices, attend international medical calls or meetings

Experiences / qualifications required:

  • Education: DVM (veterinary medicine degree) or relevant biomedical background (Master level) is required.
  • Practice experience :
  • 5-10 years' experience of successful track records in animal health medicine - diagnostics environment preferred
  • Previous experience in a technical role in AH industry is desirable.
  • Knowledge of field-based clinical trials desirable
  • Significant knowledge of local market structure of the target species group
  • Languages: Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese languages is desired. Proficiency in other languages of the designated Region will be an asset.
  • Other specific skills: good Microsoft Office user: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Competences & Skills

  • Excellent oral communication skills English and local language(s).

  • Capabilities to technically understand scientific discussion associated with veterinary medicine.

  • Strong team spirit is a must

  • Should be able to understand trends and evolution of the medical market place, make proposals to relevant colleagues anticipating these trends to maintain Zoetis completeness

  • Be open and accountable for his/ her actions

  • Analytic mind with a good sense of synthesis

  • Develop and deliver to the International Veterinarian Webinar series

Other

  • Territory cover: APAC region with 50 % of his/her time on China and 50 % to rest of APAC Region (with strong Focus on (Australia / Thailand / Japan / Korea / India / Indonesia / Vietnam / Philippines)

  • Expected Travel across Asia could represent up to 70 % of the colleague time but to be cost efficient many meetings / trainings should be organized through web conferences

  • Must live close to an International airport.
