Job Description

Job Title

To take a holistic approach to health by incorporating food, sleep, stress & fitness. A Dietitian, or Registered Dietitian, creates nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of patients. Their main duties include analyzing patients’ health status, goals and dietary restrictions, tracking clients’ dietary intake and progress and educating patients on how to maintain a balanced diet.

What you will be doing:

Developing along with the Wellness Center management different Health and Nutrition programs for guest such as juicing, detoxing, weight management and gut health programs

Introduce/integrate healthy meal options on the menus in the Resort e.g. vegan, plant based, keto friendly, gluten free.

Work with Resort chef to have calorie count on healthy menus

Responsible for ensuring correct diets and programs are served according to the guests program and requirement

Providing health advice and promoting healthy eating throughout the resort

Advising about special diets

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team/supporting the work of other wellness practitioners

Educating the guests about nutrition through talk. A Dietitian looks at a facility’s dietary needs and provides answers to combat malnourishment. They must ensure that proper courtesy is established when serving in-house patients. Knowing who that exact patient is and who’s to receive a menu-listed meal is crucial knowledge. The Dietitian role is responsible for:

  • Coming up with a core meal plan for general patients, for special requests or for critical needs
  • Acting in the role of counselor and thus sustaining patient morale
  • Maintaining documentation from aides and management as a daily routine
  • Keeping track of what has or hasn’t worked for a patient, which is crucial to providing proper meals later on
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of a workspace and proper use of utensils during food preparation
  • Counsel patients on any dietary issues and healthy eating habits
  • Develop nutrition plans while taking into account the client’s budget and tastes
  • Assess clients’ nutritional and health needs
  • Evaluate if the meal plans have a positive effect on clients’ health
  • Create educational material about healthy eating habits
  • Read and contribute to the latest nutritional research
  • Speak to groups about the importance of nutrition to prevent specific diseases
  • Document patient progress

Your experience and skills include:

Graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelor’s degree in nutrition required. An advanced degree in nutrition, strongly preferred.

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of nutritional care and counselling

  • At least 3 years’ experience in nutritional counselling
  • Superior organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Skills in planning a variety of nutrition programs
  • Prior experience in a Wellness clinic setting a plus
  • Supervisory experience in a clinical, educational, or research setting
  • Additional specialty training in Integrative Medicine and/or Functional Medicine is highly desirable
  • Additional training in other treatment modalities, including healing touch, nursing, yoga, functional medicine, mind-body medicine is a plus
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary clinical teams (working alongside massage therapists, acupuncturists, nurses, and physicians)
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
