Summary

Applying an Electrical Engineering education to integrated circuit design draws from multiple skill sets and requires some of the most demanding problem-solving skills.  An internship in this field will give exposure to simulating designs, evaluating silicon on the bench, and modelling systems to understand design decisions and tradeoffs

Analog Devices’ Digital Healthcare Engineering Group is looking for a motivated student pursing a degree in Electrical Engineering to work with our Digital IC design team developing state of the art mixed signal solutions for next generation Computed Tomography, Digital X-Ray, Ultrasound, and Vital Signs monitoring ASIC developments. Digital Design is a key part of these state-of-the-art designs.

Job Responsibilities

Digital Design interns will be expected to:

  • Work with a cross-functional team of product, apps, and test engineers to ensure new ASIC designs will meet performance and testability goals. Support silicon debug activities including testbench FPGA support
  • Use recommended design, modeling, and verification techniques, to create efficient designs which meet specified functional, power, and timing objectives
  • Perform new digital design using Verilog RTL, Standard cells, or other approaches as necessary for both mixed signal ASIC and FPGA designs
  • Perform block and chip level verification
  • Document design work, present results, and participate in project meetings.

Job Requirements

Digital Design intern candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Pursuing Electrical Engineering Undergraduate (ABET accredited) or Graduate degree
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Interest in high performance digital design
  • Course work that covers electrical measurements, circuit simulation, and IC design
  • Knowledge of Verilog RTL and digital simulation. Cadence IC tool experience a plus
  • Familiarity with Linux environment
