The Corporate Development Functional Area incorporates Strategic Development and Business Development, and is involved in a number of areas across the business. The Strategic Development team are responsible for supporting major strategic direction of our organization, while Business Development leads work within the business units to define and implement successful local strategies.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the ABB digital partnership strategy in China market, combining both ABB’s group digital partner strategy and China’s local context in supporting the growth of ABB’s digital business.
  • Manage the partnership and activities with global and local partners in China. Identify collaboration areas and create synergy with ABB’s digital partners in activities across all work streams including technologies, solution development, thought leadership, co-marketing, sell-through/sell-with, and governance to deliver long-term value for ABB.
  • Develop local partnership arrangements that deliver real value to the business, including technology partners, go-to-market partners and start-ups in various areas, e.g. Cloud, Industrial IoT, connectivity, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, industrial digital solutions, etc. Bring China based innovations and partnerships into global landscape via the active partnership identification and management.
  • Develop and implement relevant metrics and scorecards for the life cycle of those partners. Establish governance (NDAs, framework agreements, commercial models), and track progress against defined metrics.
  • Gain adoption of the partners across ABB business lines.
  • Analyze and provide sights and thought leadership in China innovation ecosystems and market trend. identify next gen key technology areas to enable the creation of enhanced digital solutions in collaboration with external partners, ABB businesses and R&D.
  • Actively manage the relationship and participate related industrial associations and government initiatives in China with ABB’s business and functions to increase the influence and develop business opportunities.

Your background

  • Technical/Engineering Education /MBA is preferred.
  • More than 10 years of experience in a high tech or industrial enterprises or industrial associations in the following roles like Business Development, partnership management, Channel Leadership, Strategy, Product Marketing, M&A etc.
  • Broad knowledge in emerging technologies, B2B software, industrial digitalization or industrial automation spaces.
  • Deep understanding and good connection in innovation & technology ecosystem in China, especially related with industrial digitalization/automation.
  • Proven experience in business-to-business strategic alliances and partnerships that are market making and revenue generating, able to manage legal and commercial topics required for partnership development.
  • Working experience in MNCs highly is preferred.
  • Creation of convincing and strategic sales approach, proposal, documentation and presentation.
  • Fluent in oral and written English and Chinese.
