Eaton’s Industrial Controls Division is currently seeking a Digital Product Line & Firmware/Software Engineering Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Menomonee Falls, WI location. Position Overview: This position resides at the division headquarters, Milwaukee Operations and Tech Center, MOTC. MOTC houses engineering for multiple product lines as well as marketing, sales, finance, and corporate research. The facility boasts an open office layout surrounded by large windows, as well as 50,000+ square feet of onsite state-of-the-art laboratory. The Menomonee Falls location is a 3/2 facility, meaning employees can opt to be work remote 2 days a week. The Digital Product Line & Firmware/Software Engineering Manager is responsible for driving all firmware and software engineering projects, products, research, processes and resources in alignment with the Industrial Control Division strategy, product roadmap and profit plan in alignment with Eaton's overall digital strategy. Primary products include advanced motor protection, industrial communications, reduced voltage starting, variable frequency drives, conveyer control and sensors for industrial applications. These products consist of embedded solutions with software, IoT, cloud and analytic capabilities for diverse customers across the Globe. In this role, you will lead a team of embedded firmware, software and test engineers directly in the US, and functionally in India and China. As a senior leader within the division, you have the opportunity to contribute to the overall product strategy and technology roadmap. You will support the implementation of architecture and platforms across all product lines in the division, leveraging reuse and platforming for speed to market when applicable. You will also drive the engineering strategic direction for the Global teams to ensure quality, best practice sharing, enforcement and enhancement of processes and toolsets used in development and test. You will work with 3rd party partner organizations, outside divisions and Eaton CoEs to ensure alignment and conformance to Eaton standards in Cybersecurity, Quality and the Eaton Business System. This is a high visibility position aligned with Eaton's digital aspirations and burgeoning digital organization. Essential functions include: Direct manager for firmware, software and test team in Menomonee Falls Functional manager for Global firmware, software and test team (Pune, India and Shenzhen, China) Engineering product line leader for the digital offering Firmware and software product quality Both new product introduction (NPI) for digital solutions and ongoing maintenance Platform adoption and integration Global functional excellence through strategic and tactical process improvement initiatives and best practice sharing/adoption Cybersecurity compliance for all embedded and software products Accountable to Profit Plan digital commitments for division Works cross-functionally with all facets of the organization (including Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing) to ensure successful product launch on-time and on-budget and on-quality. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Engineering Minimum three (3) years’ people management experience Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within 50 miles of the Menomonie Falls, WI facility will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Engineering or Business Administration or other relevant advanced education 4+ years of real time embedded software development or software development experience (design and implementation) 1+ years of project management experience for embedded or software product development Experience with change management and leading continuous improvement initiatives Familiarity with industrial control or a related product category.
