The eCommerce Director is the champion of Mars’ digital acceleration ambition delivered via our sales org’s agenda and is integral in achieving the overall sales/profit goals for Mars Petcare US through leading Ecommerce and OMNI retailers. This person is tasked with identifying the building blocks of digital growth and creation of a multi-year growth strategy in partnership with Customer teams to enable delivery of business objectives. Strategy should include designing and implementing the 3 year capabilities roadmap required to accelerate dollar share growth across their given set of Ecommerce and OMNI retailers; identifying key points of influence outside of buying/merchandising teams and influencing customer JBPs and strategic initiatives to unlock mutual value in the digital space.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 8-10 years of direct digital marketing and/or customer management experience, a minimum of 4 years in the CPG industry (including large accounts and headquarter calls).
- A minimum of 4 years successful people leadership experience.
- Successful experience working within a team environment that includes cross functional resources/departments.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Business
- Support Delivery of annual business targets – NSV, Earnings, Cash, and Share
- Develop a compelling Team Vision, Purpose, Org Design and 3 year strategy that can be easily understood and is well-accepted within the org
- Define drivers of digital growth by brand at micro and macro level.
- Deliver retailer focused digital strategy across all relevant points of influence
- Lead a product & analytics roadmap that includes building tools, processes and competencies to support new capabilities
- Partner with Field Customer and Strategy & Planning Directors to influence customer buyer relationship through collaboration with account team with purpose of solving business challenges.
- Develop and scale long-term digital growth strategy based on retailer maturity, needs and opportunities to create mutual value.
- Establish vision and framework for internal and external benchmarking, shared KPIs across teams/functions
- Organization
- Provide vision/direction to team and roadmap for achievement of objectives
- Lead Cross-functional alignment with Customer Teams, Strategy & Planning, Data & Analytics, Marketing, Finance, RGM to drive shared accountability in support Digital Transformation agenda
- Lead/Model cross functional integration within the Customer Development Team and across the business
- Ability to lead continuous improvement
- People:
- Planning talent needs, recruiting, hiring and selecting talent capable of 2+ moves and closing open Direct Reporting roles within 45 days.
- Assessing potential and co-creating development plans with individual reports; providing coaching, championing to realize individual potential and fulfill development plan
- Developing talent and retaining talent
- Setting expectations and overseeing the achievement of individual objectives, monitoring performance and providing on-going feedback
- Coaching and directing for optimal performance
- Directing priorities and providing solutions to achieve/exceed company, brand and customer objectives.
- Responsible for team building and team management to include –
- Embracing the tone, motivation, common purpose and specific expectations for the entire team to ensure team success in the achievement of company goals
- Being a critical communication link between Field Sales and company management by disseminating company information and direction to the Sales team in a timely, actionable manner
