Siemens Industry, Inc. has an opening for a Business Developer focused on developing new partner relationships as well driving existing partner relationships to grow the Industrial Communication / Networking and Locating Systems business. This position may be based in any major US city close to a major airport and reports to the Digital Connectivity & Power (DCP) Business Segment. With increased IT/OT collaboration and greater interest in Digital Transformation or IIoT solutions across all industries, this Business Developer will work with the Industrial Sales teams and partners providing expert consultative support towards winning and successful execution of projects. Furthermore, this position supports the entire Industrial Sales territory in the United States to plan, execute and follow-through demand creation and other typical sales and business development activities jointly with partners focused on solutions commonly referred to as “digitalization” using the product and services portfolio of DCP Business Segment. This position offers the unique opportunity to apply and further develop both technical as well as sales or business development capabilities. The word “partner” in the context of this job may refer to a Systems Integrator, a Distributor, a VAR (Value Added Reseller) or even a software or services company that would actively use products and services from DCP to design and build holistic solutions for customers. Responsibilities: Outward focused, customer oriented and self-motivated Business Developer driven to: - focus on identifying, vetting, recruiting, and nurturing qualified and capable partners with deep interest to grow their business by executing projects, especially large projects that need IT/OT collaboration with high product content from Siemens’ DCP Segment. - develop & own DCP’s partnering strategy that would enable us to effectively deliver solutions - roll out partner marketing programs in association with Sales and support from DCP’s Product Marketing Managers and Sales Specialists - support and facilitate ("knowledge transfer") to new and existing partners to build their proficiency and help them adopt DCP’s products in their holistic solutions - facilitate consultative support and training for the engineers at the partners’ shop on an as needed basis by DCP’s pre-sales technical consultants - promote the capabilities and services of partners to the TIA sales organization to ensure early engagement in sales opportunity development, improve TIA Sales’ hit-rate, increase the chances of a successful project delivery, and ultimately grow DCP’s business. - help Partner Sales in development of annual business plans and participate in periodic review of the plan to monitor and track progress - leverage the full potential of DCP’s partners by close proactive engagement and facilitating utilization of partners by TIA Sales teams Required Knowledge & Skills: - Candidate must have sales or technical experience and basic working knowledge of industrial automation products, solution sets and affiliated network architectures. - Understanding of and background in networking and identification systems as well as cybersecurity concepts. - Candidate must have an entrepreneurial and collaborative attitude taking full ownership to make this key role at DCP successful - Education: BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Typically, 7+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. - Anticipated travel: 40-50% - This position requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption. Preferred Knowledge & Skills: - Understanding of the business models of various types of partners such as distributors, systems integrators, and VARs so as to be able to choose and select the most appropriate partner that will help grow DCP’s business. - Ability to quickly build trusting relationships with partners by championing their cause within DCP and also within the TIA Sales team - Experience and background with IIoT / Digital Transformation / Industrie 4.0 type projects in any capacity - Familiarity with commonly sold competitive Communication & Networking product lines in US industrial markets. - Past experience in a technology Sales role selling to Industrial customers - Experience working at a Systems Integration shop or an end-user manufacturing facility or a software company. - Any type of IT/OT network certifications, cybersecurity certifications or equivalent #LI-VM1 Organization: Digital Industries Company: Siemens Industry, Inc.
