Since
opening in 2003, PPD’s offices in China now include 20 different departments.
The combined Beijing and Shanghai offices are now seven times the size they
were two years ago and are continuing to grow. Currently PPD is recruiting for
a Director of Feasibility Strategy
for China, as part of our Study Start-Up
group.

This
role will expand the scope of PPD’s strategic feasibility services, ensure the
effective integration of strategic feasibility services with PPD’s overall
scope of work. You need to create site relationship and enrollment strategies,
ensure that individual project targets are met, clients are satisfied, services
are provided with the highest quality standards and policies and procedures are
followed. Meanwhile, you need to coordinate expert medical input, ensure data
driven methods for country and site identification, leverage the benefits of
local country selection of sites, develop and maintain strategic relationships
with external and internal customers and business partners, as well as develop
and maintain an organizational structure and performance culture, managing
resource and succession planning, performance, training and development
planning to maximize the performance.

Your
responsibility also includes developing and maintaining strategic site and network
relationships to enable the company to provide industry leadership in sites and
patient access; effective operations and relationship management with strategic
sites and networks regionally; collaborating with colleagues across the
organization to ensure appropriate understanding of the company's site and
patient access capabilities as well as future needs to facilitate service
delivery, client satisfaction and operational effectiveness; participating in
compliance initiatives to reduce regulatory risk, increase client confidence,
and support investigator relationship management; conducting periodic analysis
of preferred site and network performance to ensure continued value for all
parties; identifing gaps in site and patient strategy and works with leadership
to fill gaps in order to provide a differentiated offering for customers.

Essential Functions:
  • Oversees the functional bidding for Strategic
Feasibility in mainland China for all multiple service and stand-alone RFPs;
prepares/oversees preparation of the budget and text for proposals for which
Strategic Feasibility is included.

Conducts data mining of internal and external
databases to develop robust strategies for conducting clinical trials and make
recommendations for mainland China.

·
Leads cross functional teams to coordinate
Trial Optimization efforts and is accountable for final report deliverable and
presentation to the client.

·
Participates in mainland China Site ID
assessments by setting initial strategy at the time of the RFP and through
discussions with the client and cross functional team members, creating site
assessment surveys, overseeing creation of optimal site profile and site list
development, reviewing data from sites, determining parameters for tiering
sites and providing PSV recommendations.

·
Oversees all mainland China feasibility service
offerings and works with team members to identify risks and develop mitigation
plans, oversees project finances, and provides cost estimates for OOS work.

·
Serves as Feasibility Alliance Leads for
Strategic and/or Alliance Partners in Mainland China.

·
Develops innovative tools for enhancing
strategy and participate in initiatives to create efficient and effective ways
of conducting feasibility assessments and identifying the best sites for studies.

·
Leads intra and inter-departmental meetings,
presenting information on Strategic Feasibility offerings, demonstrating
continued value-add of the department and providing training on best practices,
processes and tools.

·
Conducts regular performance appraisals and
career discussion with direct reports and serve as mentor for junior staff
(small number of direct reports in future)

·
Fosters a leadership culture which attracts,
develops and retains high caliber individuals, and builds and cultivates
relationships with both internal and external clients which leads to repeat
business opportunities.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

Previous experience that
provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to
12+ years).

5+ years of management
