Objectives & Key Responsibilities
HKSTP is devoted to driving the development of a vibrant I&T ecosystem in Hong Kong. With the strong resources & support from the government recently, our role is even significant. In view of the rapid expansion & continuous growth of the Company, we are looking for a seasoned candidate to support the Chief Commercial Officer in formulating strategies to strengthen collaborations and identify partnership opportunities with the Mainland technology companies, high tech parks, leading universities, research institutes, investors, and governments. He/she is expected to land quality technology companies to the park. Other key responsibilities are outlined below:-
- Be accountable for prospect client solicitation and the development of engagement plans
- Build and maintain good relationships with the Mainland government authorities, industry leaders, universities, institutions, start-up communities, incubators, high tech parks, and etc. to build the pipeline of business opportunities and to secure continuous business growth
- Connect to and partner with InvestHK, HKTDC and other available market channels to reach out to all potential clients interested to know HKSTP
- Keep abreast of technology trends, industry trends, and market intelligence and translate them into business opportunities
- Chair the marketing activities including roadshows, delegation visits, seminar/workshops to promote Hong Kong Science Park as an innovation and technology hub
- Support the initiatives for international business development
- Perform such other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- University or post-graduate degree in Engineering- or Science-related disciplines, preferably with a MBA degree;
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in new business and market development, of which at least 5-8 years in managerial level; Candidate with less experience will be considered as Associate Director
- A vision for emerging technologies and experience in technology transfer, commercialization, incubation and/or startup investment in Biomedical Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Smart City, Fintech, and/or Advanced Materials Manufacturing is desirable;
- A deep understanding of the Mainland business environment, technology landscape and key players, and government innovation policies;
- Extensive network with government bodies, universities, industries, academia, high tech parks etc. in Mainland;
- Well understanding of provincial and local government structure with proven track-record in multi-level engagement protocol;
- Strong business acumen and leadership skills with excellent command of spoken/written English and Mandarin;
- Personal attributes: versatile and dynamic, mature and entrepreneurial flair with excellent interpersonal & influencing skills; passionate with can-do attitude;
- Travel to Mainland and GBA is required.
