Job Description
Microsoft is looking for a talented manager to lead Business Planning for our dedicated and specialized compute services including several key strategic partnerships. This is an influential role which provides opportunities for senior executive exposure across Microsoft’s engineering, product, marketing, and finance orgs.
 
As Director of Business Planning, you will own the business strategy and pricing models for a range of Azure Dedicated and Azure Specialized Compute offerings focused on providing IaaS solutions to meet customer needs across several defined verticals and industries. 

Responsibilities

• Supporting a diverse and inclusive team culture and attract, retain, and grow business planning talent as a team manager
• Defining business strategy for the dedicated and specialized compute market in partnership with engineering, product marketing, and finance.
• Developing business model strategy, product pricing/packaging by applying sound marketing principles in segmentation, targeting, and product positioning.
• Coaching and mentoring team members to continually learn, refine, and improve the methods and processes used to develop business models, strategy, and pricing.
• Leading cross-functional teams to create, implement, and refine business models.
• Partnering with engineering, product marketing, finance, and other teams to drive cross-discipline initiatives for exceptional business results.
• Defining and delivering the business model decisions for any new or updated specialized or dedicated compute offerings.
• Developing key metrics, forecasts, and reporting in partnership with finance and engineering to monitor business performance.
• Ensure prices are available in an accurate and timely fashion by working in collaboration with pricing support teams.
• Ensuring all internal and external business model and packaging content is up to date while driving field education on our dedicated and specialized compute offerings.

Qualifications

• A deep passion for coaching, mentoring, and guiding teams. 
• A strong track record of working across diverse stakeholders to define and execute strategic initiatives with passion, precision, and excellence.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and be able to synthesize data from multiple sources to drive data-driven decisions.
• Exceptional business judgement leveraging strong strategic thinking complemented with a bias for action and execution/operational excellence. 
• Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must to drive projects and build executive buy-in and support for key projects.
• A minimum of ten years in product marketing, finance, and/or business planning required.
• A BS/BA degree is required, MBA or a Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, or equivalent field preferred.
