Director Surface Technology
Recognized as an external thought leader in ceramics, coatings, and surface preparation. Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems that impact products. May participate in the development of the product or business strategy. Leads multidisciplinary projects or initiatives. Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of individual capabilities and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies, as appropriate Develop and implement concepts for entire range of unusually complex product issues and engineering solutions Provide guidance in problem identification and troubleshooting an entire range of unusually complex engineering problems of unusually complex scope that may have business wide potential implications Interface with internal and external customers regarding engineering unusually complex issues to address customers High Value Problems (HVP) for the unit's product line Specify and/or perform engineering analysis that has product line implications Generate product specifications Lead the development of design or modify engineering assemblies, layout/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of unusually complex scope Lead, define, coordinate, perform and document engineering tests
