Primary Job Responsibilities
PayPal Credit is the simple, flexible credit line built into your PayPal account. PayPal Credit Risk Organization is responsible for managing the risk throughout the lifecycle of PayPal’s global Credit products. This is an exciting, fast paced organization where the contribution by team members can significantly impact PayPal’s bottom line as well as our customers’ experience.
Fraud Strategy & Analytics team owns fraud losses from PayPal’s installments, lines and partner-credit offerings for PayPal’s global consumers, proposing solutions and measuring effectiveness of solutions post-implementation.
Scope of responsibilities include
Leading team of Fraud analysts who manage fraud strategies, flash rules, fraud policies for new consumer credit products & features
Close partnership with Credit Fraud leads responsible for cross-functional domains such as fraud mitigation on existing credit products, fraud operations, fraud analytics, anomaly detection, loss forecasting, etc.
Close partnership with stakeholders such as Credit Risk Strategy, Credit Policy and Model Governance, Credit Risk Platform, Fraud Operations, Synchrony Financial and other Bank partners, Global Fraud Risk/PYPL Seller Risk/PYPL Collections, Credit Platform, Credit Business Leaders, Global Data Science, Credit Finance teams to just list a few of our critical partners
Functional skills
Proven track record as an effective leader, coach and mentor of a talented pool of analysts, who engages teams with a clear sense of purpose and enthusiasm
Ability to analyze large amounts of data in order to make informed decisions as to the direction of risk mitigation, performance management and behavioral action
Ability to manage a geographically distributed team (direct reports will be in both US/India at a minimum, possibly more regions depending on future product needs)
Ability to combine technical expertise and business acumen to create business value
Ability to collaborate and represent credit fraud needs amongst cross-functional teams working on aggressively expanding credit, greater regulatory constraints notwithstanding
Ability to manage a very broad set of partners and stakeholders with varying degrees of comfort with fraud risk, and the unique type of fraud that impacts consumer credit products residing within a global digital wallet
Business Acumen
Expert understanding of Credit lifecycle and leading and lagging loss performance indicators for both Credit delinquency as well as fraud/abuse MOs
Familiarity with PayPal’s products, flows, risk infrastructure and KPIs is a significant advantage, but not a must-have

Required Skills:
Proficiency in SQL, statistical analysis tool: SAS / R / Python is helpful but not a must have
Strong analytical skills: ability to build quick estimates using back-of-the-envelope analysis, structure complex analyses, pull together business cases, navigate multi-dimensional sets of tradeoffs.
Ability to manage a large, diverse set of to-dos’ – prioritize, stay on top of multiple work streams, monitor progress
Ability to work with senior leadership & diverse stakeholders to define project scope and direction, driving large and complex pieces of the work independently
Strong communication skills – a sense of appropriate communication mechanism/approach to use given context/circumstances.
Experience working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams, managing through influence is a must-have
Ability to contribute to strategic discussions and represent Risk/Fraud in cross-functional meetings
Ability to mentor junior team members
Dedicated, proactive, curious and eager to learn new approaches / methodologies
Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. MS/MBA or PhD degree can qualify for some years of experience
10+ years’ experience in Credit/Fraud or related area
3-5 years’ experience managing and building teams
