Job Description

Position Summary:

In this dynamic and highly visible role you will work to support government and institutional engagement with Brussels-based EU policymakers, Members of the European Parliament, Member States of the European Union, the UK Parliament, and their related partners, influencers and trade associations. You will have a deep understanding of the regulatory and policy environment of the EU institutions that impact infrastructure legislation and Bentley Systems. You will establish relationships and liaise with internal partners to build knowledge, advocacy strategies and achieve results.

 

Key Qualifications:

Do you have extensive professional experience in Government Affairs & Public Policy Advocacy preferably with leading technology / infrastructure companies and prior experience dealing with EU issues?

  • Ideally you will have strong experience dealing with Government and key national and multinational institutions, industry and trade associations in the EU.

Can you demonstrate experience in driving expansion projects in the EU institutions?

  • Deep knowledge of political landscape, and policy building in the EU in general with specific knowledge of digital and infrastructure policies.
  • Validated experiences in leading complex government affairs projects successfully.
  • A desire to work with multiple partners to tackle complex issues internally and externally.
  • Ability to develop trust-based relations internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in English and preferably other European languages

 

Responsibilities:

  • Promote positive outcomes of legislative and regulatory initiatives.
  • Identify policy developments in the EU and assess their impact on Bentley Systems.
  • Map and prioritise relevant partners by issues, strategic issues, and lines of business.
  • Build/enhance Bentley’s relationships with key EU institution partners.
  • Collaborate with account management teams and cross-functional colleagues to develop Bentley’s positions and strategies regarding key digital policy related issues.
  • Manage Bentley’s EU government engagement regarding EU regulatory, infrastructure and competition issues, and implement engagement strategies.
  • Represent Bentley’s position with EU policymakers to maximize regulatory opportunities and eliminate/minimize threats.
  • Network internally to disseminate information, as well as gather expert input.
  • Advise internal partners on political and cultural landscape and provide solutions.
  • Participate in trade associations to represent Bentley’s views and interests.

 

Education & Experience:

  • BA (preferably Masters) Degree in Law, Engineering, Political Science, Policy or Economics.
