Job Description
Position Summary: The role of Head of Engineering Functional Excellence EMEA is responsible for enhancing Eaton's overall product development lifecycle, embedding a continuous improvement and lean culture, providing our engineering teams with process, tools and systems that optimize their productivity and fuels organic growth. The incumbent will: Help / Lead set up a representative set of KPIs / Dashboards and review process to monitor and improve Engineering performance in EMEA Work with the business leaders / product managers / program managers to provide insights and oversight through those performance indicators across our end-to-end product development lifecycle Develop and deploy strategies to advance engineering maturity and efficiency Simplify, streamline and standardize engineering processes and tools The incumbent will be responsible for collaborating with a cross-functional set of stakeholders across the divisions, drive improvements in key business metrics. The incumbent will build organization capability in engineering excellence, aligning Eaton's EBS framework. This position is based in our EEIC (Prague Innovation Center), and this role will also drive the pilot change through EEIC, thus setting up a benchmark for best practice. He/She will act as a coach to the EEIC leadership team and drive deployment locally. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate near-expert level competence in understanding full end-to-end aspects of Engineering operations and product development lifecycle. Act as a lean champion and innovative thought leader, focusing on driving standardization, simplification and digitalization for & across the product development lifecycle. Using Lean principles to ensure continuous improvement, deployment and execution of processes across Eaton worldwide. Implement a robust reporting infrastructure across end-to-end product development lifecycle, extracting data from appropriate systems to provide real-time actionable insights on product development efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure customer first mindset is embedded across processes, systems and tools, making work easier and creating capacity for engineers across all aspects of product development lifecycle. Educate and direct education of cross-functional teams that play a role in the product development lifecycle, appropriate processes, systems and tools. and drive a culture of continuous improvement and lean methodologies. Provide valuable insights and direction on opportunities for investments, synergies and enhancements across the engineering operations. Contribute to the development of annual profit plan budget. Be the EMEA representative to the Enterprise Functional Excellence Leadership Team. Qualifications Master's degree in a relevant Science, Engineering, Technology or Maths field Minimum 15 years of experience working across engineering, operations and manufacturing, supply chain and sales, with a proven track record influencing across the end-to-end product development process Expert in Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies Deep technical knowledge, understanding of engineering complexities across multiple technologies and R&D management Broad foundational technical expertise across areas such as grid modernization, vehicle and aerospace electrification, additive manufacturing and intelligent systems Solid understanding of and ability to assess and deploy enterprise IT systems, applications and solutions Proven ability to leverage cutting edge technologies such as robotics, machine learning and artificial intelligence applications, drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
