Job Description

The Director, Environmental Social  Governance- ESG Operations and Performance, Consumer Health works within our global sustainability team to manage ESG (environmental, social and governance) workstreams for consumer health categories and brands. The Director will be responsible for leading multiple projects, managing the implementation of sustainability workstreams and providing sustainability expertise and support to brand category and product supply teams.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead project management of sustainability workstreams (Environmental, Social and Governance) for consumer health categories; identifying best practices and developing plans to deploy these practices
  • Develop and implement score cards and dashboards to drive sustainability and public affairs performance for our brands, regions and functions
  • Ensure sustainability programs are being executed, contribute to brand and regional team meetings and develop strategies to support our brands and functions in addressing regional sustainability concerns
  • Establish and ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements. Develop project plans, materials and tools to support consumer health category leads
  • Implement tools to track environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance data, benchmarking external metrics and tracking organizations, and monitoring related regulations and risks
  • Oversee roll out of priority sustainability projects as identified by sustainability leadership
  • Develop actional recommendations for sustainability solutions that will further Bayer’s efforts to reach its 2030 sustainability targets.

 

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • Bachelors Degree in business and or policy with a minimum of 8 years of experience from a top-tier consulting firm working on large brands, or experience working in a consumer products company and/or another industry or NGO with a high-profile consumer brand OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience from a top-tier consulting firm working on large brands, or experience working in a consumer products company and/or another industry or NGO with a high-profile consumer brand  
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working directly on ESG - Environmental Social Governance
  • Minimum of 2 years’ on development and embedding of ESG programs metrics and KPIs into big brands metrics in relation to large consumer brands
  • Demonstrates understanding of the sustainability landscape in global markets, such as the U.S., EU and China.
  • Deep knowledge of social and environmental issues, NGO & regulatory landscape, sustainability claims and eco labels.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement with key groups including but not limited to employees, consumers, communities, NGOs, government officials and other individuals/entities of influence
  • Outstanding writing and presentation development skills
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills that promote cohesion and team work; timeliness and efficiency.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage several projects at once, even while away from the office
  • Experience communicating and marketing sustainability efforts
  • Experience with sustainability reporting efforts
