In March, Intel announced the first phase of its plans to invest as much as 80 billion euros in the EU over the next decade along the entire semiconductor value chain - from R and D to manufacturing to state-of-the art packaging technologies. This includes plans to invest an initial 17 billion euros into a leading-edge semiconductor fab mega-site in Germany, to create a new R and D and design hub in France, and to invest in R&D, manufacturing and foundry services in Ireland, Italy, Poland and Spain. Intel's trade team is hiring for a Director, EMEA Export Program along with this landmark investment.
This is a leadership position, leading the team responsible for the management and direction of all export compliance and regulatory activities in EMEA. They will lead the global program ensuring Intel complies with export regulations originating from countries in EMEA, as well as developing and implementing the regulatory strategy to shape regulations in this region. They will provide direction to their team on trade strategy, tools, infrastructure, and resources. Develop scalable solutions that can be automated. Manage complex, high-risk projects, and programs with direct impact on the success of key company strategies. Partner and collaborate closely with the Trade Legal team. Interfaces with internal and external customers, and government officials to facilitate and update trade policy matters.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
Assume responsibility for the management and direction of all export compliance activities in the EMEA region.
Manage export control issues, standards, and processes; military and other government agency requirements, and non-US governments globally;
Work to develop and advise the business on strategies that enhance business opportunities while ensuring regulatory compliance
Manage and obtain rulings and licenses on behalf of Intel business units from appropriate United States Government regulatory agencies, as required to comply with all applicable trade requirements globally
Provide consultation, communications, and awareness to stakeholders in various business functions to ensure the compliant, efficient, and cost-effective cross-border compliance
Ensure Intel is compliant with all export regulatory requirements
Continuously assess the export regulatory landscape and align team resources accordingly for optimum effectiveness.
Proactive identification and mitigation of export compliance risks
Based on assessment findings this role will support root cause analysis in partnership with Trade Legal, including resolution of compliance issues and ensuring ownership and timely completion of compliance-related corrective actions
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field; Master's degree preferred
10+ years of trade compliance experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience of practical day to day work experience applying relevant export regulations to business activities.
Minimum of 5 years of people management experience preferred.
Experience partnering with government licensing officers and regulators to resolve regulatory matters and identify novel solutions to meet business needs, worldwide.
Able to leverage strong regulatory acumen to identify export requirements or issues and then collaborate with partners to address the matter.
Strong trade technical knowledge of EMEA export control laws/regulations .
Leadership skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and inspire others to perform in a fast-moving environment.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to make well-thought through decisions in a timely way.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Results oriented.
Leads groups in resolving problems by identifying key issues, inputs, stakeholders, and outcomes.
Applies a broad business and functional knowledge base to develop insightful solutions to complex problems.
