Job Description

Director of Event Operations

As Director of Event Operations, you will provide vision and leadership that fosters an engaged team and ensures quality, efficiency and superior service at each group event.

You will be responsible for:
o Consitently offeroing professional, friendly and engaging service.
o Directing and managing all activity related to the Event Department, ensuring all service standards are followed.
o Ensuring all events maintain a first class and positive visual impact; including ambiance, decor and service delivery.
o Coaching and training the Events leadership team in all apsects of the department. 
o Building strong inter-personal relationships the the Culinary leadership team.   

o Providing support and mentorship to Food & Beverage leaders in Stewarding and In-Room Dining.

o Following the annual budget and administering it in a financially responsible manner.
o Ensuring all financial reporting is maintained and accurate billing for each event is recorded.
o Responding to guest concerns and reacting quickly and professionally.

o Assuming responsibility for all event facilities, including cleanliness, repair and maintenance, reporting any deficiencies as required.

o Attending pre-event meetings with clients to confirm all relevant details are communicated.

o Balancing operational, administrative and Colleague needs

o Conducting regularly scheduled departmental meetings.

o Following policies, procedures and service standards.

o Ensuring all safety and sanitation plocies are followed when handling food and beverage.

 

Your experience and skills include:
· Previous leadership experience in Food and beverage required
· Strong knowledge of Event operations an asset
· Computer literate in Microsift Window applications required

· University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
· Excellent communication and organizational skills

· Strong interpsrdonal and problem solving skills

· Highly responsible and reliable

· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

· Ability to work cohesively as apart of a team

· Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

· Previous experience in a union environment an asset
