Provides overall leadership over Finance Master Data (FMD) by a) helping re-design the Finance Master Data approach, including the FMD organization structure, the governance and process, and the underlying systems; and b) leading the FMD process including establishing business rules; collecting and assessing user requirements and business needs; ensuring transparency and effective communication of process and status, and ensuring effective data stewardship. Responsibilities (List up to 10 main responsibilities for the job. Include information about the accountability and scope) Lead the cross-functional effort to redesign FMD, including people, process, and technology Lead the roll-out and implementation of the redesigned approach, including working with BTS on technology Develop understanding of current business requirements Facilitate cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment across functions Establish / refine controls over accuracy of FMD and consistency across key systems Identify and pursue opportunities for process improvement Oversee the development and delivery of training, presentations, workshops, and group communications Qualifications Data Design – Manages Master Data domain across the enterprise, ensuring high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, and privacy. Defines standards for data design, naming, data definitions and usage. Data Quality – Ensures the monitoring of master data and remediates issues to maintain defined levels of quality. Focuses on business benefits, fosters the goal of data sustainability, and articulates the strategic significance of quality data to the organization. Establishes relevant metrics, identifies gaps and opportunities for improvement, and develops projects to address issues. Workflow/Process – Ensures enterprise adherence with consistent master data workflow for Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) process. Data Operations – Oversees centralized master data operations organizations supporting the creation and maintenance of enterprise master data elements. Compliance – Enforces compliance with applicable Corporate policies, processes and procedures; and introduces new compliance documents. Vendor Liaison - Coordinates and manages relationships with industry peers, vendors, consultants, and external resources in support of master data management initiatives. Issue Resolution – Leads collaborative efforts to resolve cross-functional data governance issues. Client Relationship Management - Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with management and various stakeholders, including but not limited to ERP teams and business process owners. Change Management – Engenders organizational change across functional and geographical areas ensuring successful implementation of master data and related practices. Specifically addresses integration of new data sources from mergers and acquisitions. Bachelor’s Degree. MBA strongly preferred. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PPT). Excellent phone and interpersonal, analytical, negotiation, oral and written communication skills. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Strategic business understanding and vision, and the ability to translate strategy into tactical execution. Finance, commercial, operations, project management and process improvement functional experience. Program management experience running multiple projects simultaneously with ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience in division and enterprise-level project management communications. Experience establishing and directing an operational support organization strongly preferred. Holistic understanding of the use of core master data elements within AbbVie. 10+ years of operational experience with specific knowledge of Master Data domain, data governance, data quality, and related business processes. Experience in division and enterprise-level project management, running multiple projects simultaneously. Six Sigma Certification preferred.
