Job Summary: The Global Process Leader for the Purchase to Pay (PTP) work stream provides global leadership for the PTP process across all of Eaton’s financial shared service centers covering both R12 and SAP applications. This position owns the end-to-end PTP process and is responsible to drive efficiency, leverage the capabilities of the systems utilized in this space, and maintain the highest levels of internal control and governance. This position will be responsible for benchmarking activities and developing the strategy to drive the function to achieve top quartile results for applicable PTP results and customer satisfaction. The incumbent will also work closely with other Global Process Leaders (GPLs), center and regional leaders and other key COEs across the sectors, functions, and regions to govern, formulate and manage all process and system related changes. Leadership and oversight will include direct management of selected subject matter experts and functional oversight of key process leaders in applicable shared service centers. Job Responsibilities: In this role as a global process leader for purchase to pay you will be responsible to: Ensures that global PTP processes, procedures, and systems are implemented, maintained, and improved as necessary to drive efficiency and global standardization. Maintains strong relationships with global technology partners and identifies new solutions to improve and enhance (Concur and Markview as examples). Builds organizational capability across all of the shared service centers (aligned with site leaders) that can successfully execute both the current process requirements and the future strategic direction. Establishes and reviews applicable PTP related metrics regularly to measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Ensures that global PTP processes are compliant with all Eaton Financial policies and meet all US GAAP and Statutory reporting requirements. Ensures sub-ledger to general ledger relationships are maintained and are in balance (APPO). Develops strategy for the global PTP process and leads benchmarking activities to achieve top quartile results for applicable PTP results and customer satisfaction. Identifies opportunities to further leverage and utilize the capabilities of the PTP global team to centralize work. Works with supply chain leadership on opportunities, strategies and actions to improve accounts payable performance and increase supplier leverage through programs to optimize terms and payment practices. Monitor’s performance to ensure compliance with key programs Ensures that the global PTP process is tightly linked with all other front-end and customer initiatives in Eaton and that changes to any of the systems or processes are coordinated and aligned to protect the integrity of the overall approach to Eaton’s customers. Participates as a key member in strategic decisions and the creation of the Global Financial Services and Systems (GFSS) business plan. Participates in the conceptualization and development of GFS model policies, methodologies, techniques, and strategies Responsible for system documentation, including customizations, extensions, interfaces, etc… Ensures system documentation is maintained in a secure centralized repository, is up to date and maintained in a standardized format. Responsible for internal card programs and well as partnering with SCM and Operations to increase DPO and managing inquiries both internal and from supplies. Partner with relevant groups to ensure AP activities are initiated appropriately and completed for acquisitions, divestitures and/or integration activities. Supports all organizational training requirements related to the PTP process. Ensures that training material and documentation is updated on a regular basis. Qualifications Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA and / or CPA preferred. Minimum of 12 years of finance experience. Prior experience in the PTP process (supplier set-ups, supplier payments, travel and entertainment, month-end accrual accounting) preferred. Requires a broad knowledge of Finance and business trends and is able to translate that knowledge into strategic directions that support the businesses’ objectives. Must be able to work with enterprise-wide senior Finance and business leaders to develop and maintain the appropriate long term global Financial systems strategy. Identifies business and technology drivers that require Financial system focus and support. Works on and provides input and direction to corporate wide Financial initiatives having global implications. Possesses significant business knowledge as well as technical expertise in the following: accounting and financial systems, R12 configuration, sub-ledger management, Chart of Accounts alignment, legal entity structure, customer knowledge / manufacturing sites. Strong experience in process mapping, internal controls and financial systems. Six Sigma or lean experience a positive. Requires one to be practically creative (pragmatic) in concert with critical thinking skills to leverage existing solutions where possible. This leader must be able to develop and/or evaluate a business case for change by analyzing, researching and leveraging benchmarking and best practices within the industry. Experience successfully collaborating and productively interacting with a wide variety of cultures including external providers is essential.
