The Director of Business Development for Microsoft Healthcare will lead technology transformation with Microsoft Healthcare’s largest healthcare partners, payers and life science companies. This role requires the unique ability to bridge early development efforts and identify the business model and implementation pathways for large scale deployment in end customer environments. Key responsibilities include presenting Microsoft’s healthcare data platform capabilities from both a commercial and technical point of view.
Success in this role requires both strong communication and writing skills in addition to a deep technical understanding of cloud technology, healthcare data management, and a fluency of industry regulatory trends specific to interoperability and FHIR.
The ideal candidate for this role enjoys solving complex problems, can conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses, and can quickly become comfortable leading technical discussions about Azure’s platform capabilities in healthcare, and works effectively with cross-functional teams in an environment that is constantly evolving.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development activities specific to Azure’s health data platform capabilities.
- Engage in a range of communication scenarios from executive to developer environments for presentation of Microsoft’s healthcare data platform capabilities.
- Connect appropriate engineering and research teams to key customers, facilitate introductions, and coordinate follow-up activities.
- Help engineering and research teams identify gaps between Azure and competitive healthcare cloud offerings.
- Work with strategic pursuits across Microsoft to scope engineering and research work streams in the context of large customer opportunities.
- Maintain industry heat map of active health data platform engagements, statuses, and next steps.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of business development, analysis, strategy and/or product management experience.
- Advanced quantitative aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects with minimal direction.
- Strong collaborator with excellent relationship and leadership capabilities.
- Outstanding written and oral communications.
- BA/BS.
