What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. Amgen Oncology is seeking a creative, exceptional scientist to guide the discovery and development of next-generation antibody-based therapeutics. In this vital role you will will lead research and project teams to build on Amgen’s industry-leading BiTE® platform and will define and implement key areas for strategic and technical advancement. This is a high-visibility role both within the organization and externally. Broad knowledge of cancer biology, together with proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, matrixed environment will be essential.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience in Cancer Biology, Immunology, or related field

Or

Master’s degree and 7 years of experience in Cancer Biology, Immunology, or related field

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 9 years experience in Cancer Biology, Immunology, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Cancer Biology, Immunology, or related field with 10 years of industry and management experience
  • Leadership style that is highly collaborative, puts patients and science first, and develops talent at all levels
  • Deep understanding of cancer cell signaling and immuno-oncology, including T-cell targeted therapies
  • Proven scientific accomplishment and innovation in oncology research as evidenced by high-impact publications, congress presentations and patent submissions
  • Demonstrated experience in drug discovery and development, from target identification and validation through candidate selection and IND submission
  • Understanding of cutting-edge antibody engineering technologies
  • Experience leading research collaborations with key opinion leaders
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
