PRIMARY FUNCTION: The finance director of Investor Relations will support all investor relations activities to increase Eaton’s shareholder value and enhance investors’ perspective of the company. In addition to serving as a company spokesperson and relationship manager with the investment community, this executive will provide insight, feedback, and coaching to the leadership team with regards to investor perceptions and expectations. This position will be responsible for investor relations strategies and investor presentations and will ensure the department’s websites and distribution lists are maintained. This position requires a broad understanding of the investment landscape, as well as the strategic ability to create a compelling investor relations narrative for Eaton with focus on both short-term and long-term growth potential. In addition, this position necessitates a leader with high business acumen with in-depth knowledge of the investor relations function who can provide a holistic and pro-active analyst relations strategy with regards to educating investors about Eaton’s investment narrative. The primary responsibilities will include establishing relationships and working with influential buy and sell-side analysts to ensure accurate financial modeling, analyzing Eaton's financial statements, understanding company valuations, tracking market research and managing the preparation of materials for investor presentations and quarterly investor calls. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversee the development and execution of a strategic investor relations platform for Eaton, in coordination with the CEO, CFO, and leadership team. Ensure that the business strategy and progress is understood by the analyst and investor community. Serve as an advisor to the CEO, CFO, and other senior leaders on issues involving the public distribution of financial information and other material disclosures. Advise management on the potential impact of business initiatives on the market and shareholders, and recommend effective communication strategies to disclose business actions to the analyst and investment community. Provide support with on-going information to the company's executive leadership regarding competitive intelligence from Wall Street, analysts' positions and summaries, relative stock price movements, and periodic ownership analysis. Support company executives in building long-term rapport with investors and analysts, and keep shareholders knowledgeable about the company. Serve as a primary spokesperson and information conduit to the investor community. Develop and maintain strong relationships of trust and respect with analysts and investors and respond to external requests for financial and strategic information in an accurate, appropriate and timely manner. Contribute to the development, design, writing, production and coordination of investor relations communications including earnings documents (press releases, earnings scripts, and appendices), conference and non-deal roadshow materials, investor relations website and other investor materials. Collaborate with the finance team to provide external and internal audiences with an accurate and timely view of the company's performance and prospects. This will be accomplished through avenues such as regular meetings/conference calls with investors and analysts, web site content and other electronic means, investor days, and telephone and personal contacts with institutional investors and Wall Street analysts. Monitor macro and industry trends, particularly as they relate to the company's fundamental and stock performance. While monitoring, continually consider the potential for questions from external constituents. Manage Investor Relations roadshow and conference calendars. Collaborate with third-party targeting teams as well as corporate access teams across investors and investment banks to optimize management's time and efficiency while marketing. Manage the quarterly earnings process and preparation, schedule, and external resources. Create and update investor presentations and participate in the creation of the company annual report. Prepare quarterly Investor Relations reports for Eaton’s Board of Directors. Track and analyze sell side financial models and competitor financial performance. Conduct financial analysis, both individually and in partnership with others, around performance of Eaton and the industry overall. This includes analysis of financial documents, operational statistics, and valuation. Synthesize and share insights from analysis with senior leadership Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: The position requires regular interaction with senior leaders such as the CEO and CFO as well as business partners in Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Corporate Development & Planning, Treasury and Legal. Given the nature of the role, particularly the extensive interactions with internal and external constituents, the person in this position must be a self-starter that possesses excellent interpersonal skills, integrity and a strong work ethic. Requires Bachelor’s degree and Masters of Business Administration degree or international equivalent is strongly preferred Minimum of 12 years of financial management experience. Direct experience in investor relations strongly preferred. Finance background, with strong knowledge of capital markets, valuation, financial principles, M&A, and corporate strategy. Persuasive communicator who will positively influence Eaton’s partners and who can clearly explain complex analytical financial topics. Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment, the U.S. investment community and industry/trade analysts. Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business stakeholders. Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization. Working understanding of project planning and implementation, including the ability to work effectively with tight timelines, high quality standards, and demanding, potentially overlapping priorities. Ability to positively model the organization's commitment to integrity, diversity, inclusion, and maintaining a respectful workplace. Accountable individual who display discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information. Heavy MS Office experience; experience with Bloomberg, FactSet and other IR tools ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This position has a myriad of unique problems encountered which require special freedom to take action and influence with critical outside contacts. As a result, the person in this position must proactively think on their feet to respond appropriately to investor questions as well as anticipate areas of investor concern. Unique problems encountered include addressing investor questions without disclosing material non-public information and estimating how macroeconomic or geopolitical events may impact Eaton’s businesses. Special freedom to take action includes responding to a wide range of investor questions by anticipating how Eaton’s CEO and CFO would respond and evaluating which existing and target investors would be the best use of time for meetings with Eaton’s CEO and CFO. Critical outside contacts include 100s of buy side investors and approximately 25 sell side Wall Street analysts. The person in this position must have sufficient depth and breadth of finance and business experience to earn credibility with these outside contacts in order to have the most positive impact on the market value of Eaton’s shares.
