What is Business Transformation - Marketing?
Business Transformation will introduce new technology, new processes, and new
ideas to shape the way we ‘do’ Marketing at Lenovo. As we deployed new ways of
doing marketing at Lenovo, just some of the benefits we will realize include
the ability to:
• Launch campaigns into market much faster than we do today.
• Improve alliance compliance and claiming processes to reduce the P&L impact
of lost claims
• Enable better reuse of digital assets and content to save time and money
required for agency expense.
• Provide greater visibility to how we plan and manage our marketing budgets
to ensure our spend is aligned to our overall objectives.
• Measure and report on the ROI for Marketing
The effort to digitally transform Marketing will be a global and collaborative
effort.

As we move forward with this transformation, we will continue to invest a
significant amount of time with our stakeholders to deliver the changes to
technology and processes in a manner that will not disrupt their need to
deliver on business results.
In this role, you will be integral to the successful delivery of the Marketing
Transformation program. The transformation is a complex project with
stakeholders in marketing, finance, procurement, accounting and alliances. In
addition, Marketing Transformation is integrated with many other
transformation initiatives at Lenovo in sales, channel/partner management, and
data architecture. The leader of this team must be able to work in a deeply
collaborative fashion with many stakeholders and across many integrated
project workstreams. A deep understanding of marketing processes would be
highly beneficial for the candidate who fills this role.
In addition to strong collaborative skills, strong communication skills are
essential. The ability to grasp and logically solve complex logistics and
planning issues is a compelling asset for the person in this role. The
ability to work across multiple BGs and functions but still understand the
essential processes which must be supported within marketing transformation
will be key to success in the role.
Lenovo is looking for an experienced Marketing Transformation leader to not
only drive the end-to-end delivery of applications and capabilities being
developed on the core technical platform, but also to be the voice of
Marketing Transformation for Lenovo. This role entails understanding how
transformation can change the way we do marketing, how that change impacts our
existing processes and teams, and the inherent business value associated with
the change. Further the leader of the transformation team must be an advocate
for change and help our stakeholders envision the benefits of upgrading our
marketing processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical ability, excellent project
management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve
results in a fast-paced environment.
They are responsible for delivering platform solutions and will work closely
with the program managers to coordinate technical efforts and operational
processes. Finally, they will be responsible for ensuring timely, complete,
and on-budget delivery of platform technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement long-term strategies and objectives for the Marketing
Technology functions that supports the company’s vision, mission and values
and long-term objectives. Ensures that technology is relevant, supports
revenue generation initiatives and is scalable and robust.
• Establish technology policies, processes, organization training and programs
to support and achieve Marketing vision and objectives.
• Ensure the planning, execution, deliverables and quality assurance of all
services or products acquired through consultants meets or exceeds standards.
• Prepare operational schedules and coordinate activities to ensure successful
Marketing Technology launches.
• Create and effectively use performance measurements to quantify and
benchmark technology productivity, effectiveness and customer service levels.
• Confer with other IT and business departments as necessary to review
achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting
from current status and conditions.
• Identify emerging technologies, assess their applicability to the business
needs and develop proposals on applying new technology solutions to take
advantage of new business opportunities.
• Continuously improve technology costs through the application of new tools,
processes, practices and outsourcing.
• Develop direct reports to increase the bench strength and flexibility of the
technology function. Ensure that all technology employees receive appropriate
training and resources to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.
• Work closely with executives in other functions (e.g. Marketing, Operations,
Merchandising, Human Resources, Finance, Procurement and Legal), as well as
with senior management team to ensure strategic goals of the business are
achieved.
• Effectively manage third party relationships and off-shore resources

Technical Competencies
• Ability to relate efficient and effective systems solutions to diverse and
complex business/technical problems.

presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), &
planning skills.
• Ability to navigate multiple stakeholders, platforms and communities to

(marketing, finance, procurement, accounting, alliances)
• Serious organizational aptitude and ability to multi-task and manage a high-
volume, high-visibility function.

ongoing campaign optimization.
• Leader who can think through future state, and trends.
• Experience in an Adobe AEM, Anaplan, and Marketo environment
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
