What you will be doing:
- Develop communication strategies and execute public relations programs within the hotel and local/regional/national/international markets to extend the brand and support hotel’s revenue generation goals
- Develop and maintain an issues awareness program and local crisis communication program
- Serve as a key contact in the hotel for the media, industry partners and the community
- Champion philanthropic & business partnerships and promote environmental and social initiatives within the community, while raising the profile of both the hotel and the brand.
- Act as spokesperson for the hotel and as a member of the crisis management team
- Work with corporate PR to develop and execute brand initiatives
- Write and disseminate press kits, releases, editors’ advisories, calendar listings
- Advise on marketing and advertising copy and provide editing for brand consistency and according to the most actual Fairmont Brand Guidelines
- Update PR newsroom and keep corporate PR and agencies informed of all news
- Drive local marketing initiatives and activations to boost resort awareness in the local community
- Develop and build positive relationships with regional media and industry partners in key markets
- Develop joint, regional and national promotional opportunities with other Fairmont properties
- Develop and maintain all media lists and contact information
- Assisting Regional Director of Sales & Marketing with seasonal promotions, packaging
- Work with the Food and Beverage team to promote revenue generating initiative for all outlets and banquets / weddings
- Maintain an up-to-date photo and video library, including a photographic record of all media and special events
- Oversight of digital assets including photography, video and other tools
- Oversight of photo- and video-shoots at hotel according to Corporate Guidelines and with Corporate approved suppliers
- Conduct individual and media familiarization trips and regional media outreach/entertaining as needed
- Work with tourism and airline partners where appropriate
- Seek product placement/broadcast/film opportunities to leverage new and existing brand partnership opportunities
- Extend brand reach with non-traditional marketing and media partnerships
- Work with Regional Director of Sales and Marketing to leverage advertising and marketing programs, especially Local opportunities and those outlined in the Annual Calendar from outside Marketing/Ad Agency
- Submit monthly media measurements reports to Corporate and Regional Public Relations and Communications Teams, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing and General Manager
- Oversight and content management of resort Social Media channels
- Oversee marketing and operations team with reputation management and guest responses for such sites as (but not limited to) TrustYou, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Expedia, Yelp and others
- Pursue key influential awards and execute nominations accordingly
Business Goals:
- Development and manage PR and Crisis plan.
- Development and management of Marketing / Communication strategies for the hotel (Focus on internal capture, local and drive markets).
- Contribute to hotel revenue targets, customer satisfaction and efficiency goals.
- Create strategies to maximize profitability of property through PR & Marketing tactics that build revenue, improve luxury positioning or maximize profits.
