Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Director – Materials & SIOP to join our team. This position can be based at the Galesburg, MI or Southfield, MI facility. Relocation assistance is offered for this position. Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Director – Materials & SIOP is to provide regional materials leadership and ensure a systematic materials strategy is being deployed in the Vehicle Group (VG) North America sites across the US, MX and CA (10 plant and 2 warehouse sites). Major responsibilities include: Own reporting of DOH, OTD, and logistics Oversight of ERP and pulse monitor development, wall-to-wall shop floor materials processes and continuing to develop the materials process playbook. Heavy focus on defining and driving tight inventory (DOH) controls to support regional P&L goals. (For VGNA, 348 suppliers and 294 customers) Act as regional champion to continuously improve common management practices and efficiently achieve an optimized materials management system in support of the VGNA and eMobility business and manufacturing strategies Essential Functions: Develop, document, and communicate a comprehensive regional Materials Strategy with responsibility for every Materials and Operations professional to have thorough understanding of materials management in VGNA and eMobility in North America, down to the process and tool level. Develop strong working relationships with functional and business leaders and participate as a member of the Global Materials Leadership Team representing VGNA and eMobility in North America on Corporate Materials, SIOP, and Logistics initiatives Maintain a regional emphasis on identifying systemic issues and leveraging key resources to realize sustainable performance improvements. Drive standardization of associated processes, systems, and tools and provide input to influence corporate/group material policies and procedures associated with total supply chain management process. Drive deployment of COE to drive efficiencies besides standardization. Continued support of the current assessment program (MMA) that helps individual sites drive continuous improvement in the materials process and establish site specific goals and action plans. Understand and effectively manage the SIOP process at a site and region level Engage with and provide materials direction to regional procurement leadership to ensure alignment of goals, metrics, and systems. Integrate the voice of materials into supply base sourcing strategies and supplier assessment and selection decisions. Support operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure leading metrics (DOH / min/max etc.) are utilized effectively within the organization to identify trends and drive continuous improvement efforts with regional Materials Managers. Own the Materials element of the Eaton Operations Assessment (OPA) process, defining common themes for the region, supporting site assessment selections, and the assessments themselves. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution Minimum fifteen (15) years of work experience in Operations & Materials Management Minimum five (5) years of materials management in a production environment Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline Advanced understanding of SIOP driven Materials Management including forecasting, scheduling, capacity analysis and inventory management. APICS CPIM certification qualification or commitment to complete equivalent Leadership of a cross-functional team Position Criteria: Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and materials process fundamentals Working knowledge of support systems (e.g. IOP, DSS, ERP Health Expertise in driving business process improvement initiatives The position requires strong managerial and leadership skills, along with strong Materials functional understanding. As a Regional Leader, this individual must also demonstrate an understanding of operational needs and business objectives and be able to balance strategic and tactical objectives.
