Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Director, Portfolio Management is responsible for the overall project prioritization and selection process, and guiding decision makers in selection of the right IT projects aligning with organization objectives and goals. Director, Portfolio Management is also responsible for producing Executive Portfolio Management Dashboard providing summary of project performance, progress, cost, schedule, potential risk and problem so that necessary corrective action can be taken by relevant project stakeholders before its impact final project outcome.

Director, Portfolio Management is responsible for the overall project management function, providing leadership, integration and management of PMO processes and functions to improve the consistency and efficiency of project delivery

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce Portfolio Management dashboard to provide key stakeholders with timely assessment of projects and programs performance.
  • Assist decision makers with regular review for reprioritization and optimization of portfolio.
  • Business planning and strategic alignment – involve in stakeholders business planning and align investment with strategic goals.
  • Capacity planning – resource allocation to achieve maximum output
  • Develops portfolio risk management plan and manage portfolio risks.
  • Define the PMO strategy and lead the design and implementation of a common project management methodology, standards and tools to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects
  • Lead the execution of a PMO governance, reporting and review framework to provide a holistic view of all organizational project activity.
  • Manage interdependencies and coordination across projects to ensure that information relating to project deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders and that key performance indicators are monitored and evaluated.
  • Foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with project leaders and senior stakeholders, assess cross-functional project team capability, provide coaching, training and support to enhance program management capability, and improve collaborative development and project results.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Stakeholder satisfaction and long-term strategy and results of their portfolio.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of portfolio management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of managing mid to large scale IT projects. 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Project Management (PMP or PRINCE2) certification
  • Practitioner with PMI’s PMP certification will have added advantage.
