Job Description

The Education Marketing team is looking for a passionate and highly skilled product marketing manager (PMM) leader to design a new PMM and GTM model for Education marketing, with the plan to expand the role’s remit to oversee a team of product marketers and build for longer term scale as the Education business grows both in scope and complexity. This role will be responsible for developing differentiated value propositions, marketing materials and marketing programs to drive awareness and adoption of key products (e.g. Azure, Teams) that feature in integrated solutions (e.g. skill building), with a focus first on Higher Ed. This is an excellent opportunity to design workflow from the ground up and innovate new models and approaches for customer-centric, cross-portfolio marketing.

In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing and continually improving a PMM process that crosses a mix of inbound and outbound marketing responsibilities. You will partner with product and engineering teams to identify the most compelling Higher Ed customer scenarios and drive feature prioritization with those teams, work closely with the audience marketing team to develop positioning that is optimized for our target customers and then work with channel marketing and sales teams to communicate roadmap status and drive awareness and demand for hero products and solutions. In addition, you/your team will act as the primary marketing lead on Higher Ed solutions, building out the core value props and messaging, architecting the GTM plan and working across marketing channels (web, events, campaigns, etc.) to ensure that optimal cross-channel marketing plans are developed, executed and measurable.

This work will include partnering closely with the Education audience marketers to ensure all value props, messaging and motions align to audience needs and are optimized for the customer’s journey; developing bills of materials (BOMs) at both the product and solution level that are both easy to understand and compelling for customers and partners; ensuring product and solution truth is represented in demos and other customer experiences; and ensuring channel readiness plans are optimized for impact. You will develop deep insights on our target customers, channels, key competitors and market drivers and develop feedback mechanisms to understand blockers and opportunities to improve both product development and marketing.

Overall you will work closely with stakeholders and teams across Microsoft Education to develop and execute marketing programs for our Higher Ed products and solutions that delight customers and turn them into fans.
