How will this role make an impact?
The Director, Program Management for the Immuno Diagnostics Division (IDD) is responsible for leading the Product Management Organization to accelerate the growth of the IDD business. Reporting to the Divisional Vice President of Global R&D, the individual in this role will be managing a multi-million-dollar systems and reagents development and maintenance portfolio with global project responsibility, and with company sites in Sweden and Germany.

Key success metrics of this position are leadership for a multi-site global organization, managing a portfolio of new product development, (NPD), New Product Introductions (NPI), sustaining engineering and multi-generational project plans, as well as a portfolio of innovation and technology assessments supporting revenue growth and portfolio profitability.

What will the director program management do?

  • Driving a coordinated product development process across functions for this portfolio (Systems, Autoimmunity, Allergy), from concept through to commercialization.
  • Lead, coach & manage a team of 15+ program and project managers as well as individual contributors to execute on the defined R&D and multi-generational project plan. This includes project management training and competence development
  • Manage the IDD Biometrics organization. Ensure effective contribution to project work.
  • Execution, maintenance and further development of best in class tools for strategic portfolio and of a strategic growth plan for the PCA instrument portfolio.
  • Manage the Project Lifecycle Management Board (PLMB)
  • Cross functional management training and competence development.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Level Business Leaders and functional managers on multi-generational project plans, sustaining engineering plans and supply chain.
  • Manage the annual portfolio and project budget planning process together with the Finance partner.
  • Contribute to tools and the development of strategy to provide sustaining and value engineering.
  • Network across functions to maintain alignment of resources on priority projects.
  • Networks across divisions and groups to coordinate approaches on PMO and


How will a successful candidate look like?

  • The successful candidate will be an accomplished leader who is able to blend deep Program Management Experience and expertise with an energizing leadership style. The candidate must be able to motivate and inspire a cross-business team to overcome obstacles and deliver complex projects on-schedule and within budget.
  • A proven ability in portfolio analysis, planning and new product development required.
  • The role will require experience interfacing with leadership counterparts in QARA, Product Management, Operations, Marketing, R&D and others to ensure success of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • This role will also require experience interfacing with divisional leadership as well as corporate leadership counterparts in hardware, systems, and reagents R&D to ensure success of multi-disciplinary projects. This leader will create a results-oriented culture built on transparency and accountability. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a track record of consistently delivering high quality results.
  • Creativity and tenacity to support a robust requirements process: support the teams to distill customer requirements, understand competitive strengths and weaknesses, and then develop compelling value propositions.

  • Ability to build, analyze and evaluate financial models to forecast and track results. Experience managing a cost center needed.

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a scientific discipline or engineering, Masters or PhD a plus.
  • At least 10 years relevant project management, technical and people leadership experience required.
  • Management experience of a large team and multiple projects to drive key deliverables and timelines.
  • In addition to impeccable technical skills, successful candidates possess strong organizational, communication and team skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in diagnostics or life sciences marketing, product management, market research, or strategy consulting a plus.
