Director, Public Relations & Communications

The Director, Public Relations & Communication should nurture a strong media industry network, increase awareness and develop an enviable corporate image by developing and executing effective communication and media relations programs.

The Fairmont Amman is featuring 317 luxurious guestrooms and suites including Fairmont Gold, the brand’s hotel within a hotel featuring amenities such as private reception and guest lounge. The hotel’s food and beverage offerings provide unique concepts designed to add flair and sophistication to an already exciting city.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop a communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics.
  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
  • Coordinate all public relations activities.
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations.
  • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them.
  • Maintain extensive and positive relationships with local, regional, national, and international media
  • Create press materials: brand messaging, customized pitches, press releases, media training/briefing books.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field of studies
  • Knowledge of the industry is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and English.
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal & communication skills.
